I just read a blurb on another forum for another brand. There is a new electronic device that's being used to break into cars. It sends a radio/electronic signal that when held close to the lock will fool the cars locking system. A flollow up by the LEO's there found 5 devices recently sold via e-Bay in that area and they sell for as little as $5.

I guess they can't be used to "nick" the whole car except for an easy in, but that means anything inside is easy pickin's now.

I heard years ago that they were doing this with garage door openers and would just drive slowly actuating random frequencies till the doors would open.

Theft device

I heard of something a few years ago about a receiver device if close to someone using a remote to unlock your car was capable of 'grabbing' and duplicating the signal.
I've heard of it used in a parking lot where the same cars came back on a regular basis. Once they had the frequency then could unlock the vehicles at any time apparently.
