Wire Routeing

Any suggestions on where to run some wires through the firewall? I really don't like to drill me vette but if I have to I will I don't want to route them through the door jam or something stupid like that.. anyway here is why i need to run them

1 for my new autometer gauges for the sending unit and a vac line.. 2 for the neon lights I installed in the gills.. and maybe a few things not here yet LoL.. anyway just looking for the best place to run a few wires through.

I ran some through the spot that would normally have the clutch hardware if my car had been a manual. There is a pretty good spot there. If you have a manual I would think you could easily drill a new hole near there and run what you need. Good luck.

if i wanna instal neons i gotta drill my vette? that really sucks, poor vette gettin drilled... but, its worth it right? arent there professional places that set this all up for you???

There is a rubber grommet where the hood release cables go thru the firewall. That is where I ran my manual fan switch wire thru. Just poke a hole with a coat hanger and then use the hanger to pull the wire back thru. After you have the wires all tied down and secure use aquarium silicone to seal both sides of the hole you made.

I'll take a look at that hood release grommet when i get home from work tonight.. thanks for the sugesttion...

I really like the neon. Where did you buy them and is the light a one stick deal or separate lights? I remember there was a post on this sometime back. Seriously considering this on my 94 coupe.
