Black 1998 coupe, automatic, light oak interior, 68k on the clock, driver's seat a little worn. Paint seems to be in good shape. The only reason I'm asking is because I see it everyday and I think it's mocking me!! Maybe I'm crazy.

It is and you are ;LOL. Just kidding.

Is that the asking price? Sounds good, but if that's the asking price maybe you could get it a little lower. I'm sure you've heard this before, but run the vin at a local Chevy dealer to get a list of all work done at a GM shop.

Good luck if you go for it.

I have an 04 Commemorative conv. with less then 5k on it. Business is bad thats why it is up for sale. Every option that was offered and 6 speed. Corsa Exhaust and carbon fiber air intake. $43,000

I’m currently spending a lot of time in Chevy showrooms because I’m looking for a vert to park along side my C4.

One of the Corvette magazines just had a nice article/hit list of what to look out for on (now all used) C5’s. It was either Corvette Magazine or Corvette Fever.

It’s a good time to look at the C5. Yesterday I looked at a mint, 2001 Silver, red interior, black top Z51 6-speed vert with 25K miles for $31,500. The dealer said he’d go even lower as they are receiving a lot of C5s on trade for the C6. He had six C5s lined up in the showroom that were C6 trade-ins. Last week, he had only 3 C5s.

A few recent C5 articles to refer to.

Corvette Magazine, March 2005
How To section
Flushed with Success by Richard Prince, pages 101-105
Basic C5 service you can do in your own garage

Corvette Fever, April 2005
’97-’04 Corvette Buyer’s Guide, What to watch out for when purchasing a C5 by Meggan Bailey, pages 40-43
Not in depth as it could be, but it’s a start,

Look at the post above yours...why dont you buy his Vert?..its a beauty...:)

I’d love a ’04 Commemorative vert, I like the blue and shale color combo, they’re striking.

At this time, I have to stay in the low 30’s or below. I have my name on a list with McDorman’s for dibs on any mint condition Competition Yellow LT4s verts that roll in. Whatever I end up with will be a Saturday cruiser for me and will be parked along side my LT4 coupe.;)

The Silver 2001 I looked at was very nice, the C5 is a lot of car for the money; I need to see more verts before I jump though.
