Thought I sneek that by you guys for a few more days. Guess not.

I asked the salesman that sold my wife our Volt about getting one of the 427 60th convertibles when GM started showing them off. He let the sales manager know and a couple of months ago (more like 10 weeks), the sales manager called to say that he had an allocation for one and was I interested. Of course I was interested. He checked off the "options" I wanted and sent me email with the order information.

It got into town Friday and we drove it home late Saturday afternoon.

The sales manager says they can't order any more like mine right now because the convertible stripe package is on constraints. Lucky for me, the supplier sent enough of the rag tops to the plant for me to get one.

VIN is 00030!

Here it is in my driveway!

That'll be pretty exciting around the next COCC meeting! Did you trade Spark in on it?

Yes. Marc Heitz cut me a pretty good deal on the trade and the new Vette.

Thanks Everyone.

Getting the new 60th 427 vert has been very exciting. It looks even better in person than the pictures on GM/Chevrolet's website. The 60th stripe package reminded me and my wife of my original Vette that I had painted like a backward '96 GS and it has the 427 which I've lusted after for a few years. It just had to be a convertible. When GM released the pictures of the 427 60th vert, I showed Susan and we agreed that we should try to get one. Marc Heitz in Norman, OK made it happen for us.

Not knowing for sure what the MSRP would be was a big concern - if it had been in ZR1 range, I don't think we could have made the financing work. As it was, the price was pretty good but within our acceptable range.

Susan says I'll never get to retire if I keep buying cars.

The original Tuna Sport and the new Tuna Sport.

I'm thinking that I'll have to get a set of red hashmarks for the left front fender for the new Vette.
