My Boss and owner of the shop I work at is a REAL car buff. He encouraged me to bring my car in. Ive got pictures but my USB cable got eaten by my lovely cable shewin cat.

Anyways heres what happened.

My Dash has not been working for QUITE some time. I can see the numbers barely but the 4 halogens are out and the signals/bright light are solid on....eek

So I take the dash to John (Boss) and ask him what he can do, he says gimme 5 mins. I come back and he tells me to go see this guy down the street. I go there and its a MULTIMILLION dollar company. I go to reception (Dressed like a mechanic with the grease to match) and ask to see this guy...She send me upstairs I go up to reception again ask to see the guy and he comes up and gets me. So I go into this shop of his and theres electrogizmos EVERYWHERE and four German guys sitting in this shop listening to German radio Lol.

This guy spends an hour on it plugging it into different machines, running different paths, and making me clean stuff Hehehe. All I hear is OMG 2 amps! or What a bad design! or THERE WE GO!!

Turn out our cluster have ONE ground connecting the boards together and ONE ground leaving the main board. Of course with the amount of services and amperage this line frys! He simply soldered a new wire in bypassing the board and voila!

So I go to thank him and I say How much.....He throw up his hand like the king of his world and I say thank you and does it again LOL I leave giggling (He did it all for free) Needless to say a bottle of Cognac is going to find its way to him. BTW this guy is a Electronics Engineer of more than 35 years.. Whoa!

Now I plug it in and its better than even before it broke LOVE IT. So I go up to John again and tell him my clutch problems he says "Gimme 5 mins". He comes back and says 300 (CANADIAN) good? I say YA! So all that comes in and everythings match perfect cept the Master (Thats Monday). So Monday I will have a COMPLETE NEW Hyrdaulic system for my clutch YAHOO!.

So the cars hard starting so I say John how bout it he says "Gimme 5 mins" he comes back and says guy down the street doesn't have one in but hes going to custom build you one for 80 bucks (CND again) so I say cool.... It comes back and looks a little more heavy duty...Odd...

So I install it and go to start the car WHIRRRRRRRRRRRR CHIG CHIG VROOM WHIiiiirrrrrrrr.... It sounds like a TURBO I swear this things going to bust my flywheel ROFL!!! John just tells me its a special heavy duty version.

So in ONE day my Boss was able to get me

Clutch Master Clyinder
Slave Cylinder
Fixed Digital Cluster
Super Starter
And working on custom making a connecting line for the clyinders.

I LOVE MY JOB it only cost me 380 Bucks and a Bottle of good liquor!

Didn't make any money those 2 days but seriously what would all of this actually cost me????

Lets see

150 US Master Clyn
150 US Slave
100 US Starter
350 US Dash rebuild
Plus shipping and handling....

750 US + Shipping x 1.54 = 1232$!!!!!!!

Did good hey WOOTCHA

My shop is the same way.. he doesn't want us running a home garage on the side.. using his shop for a parts hook up.. anyway I love our discount not only we get parts at cost but labor it free except for my personal time.. did a clutch in my88 s10 spent 130 bucks for the parts clutch disc, pressure plate, through out bearing, pilot bushing... thats is.. also replaced the master and slave cyclender for under 100$ I think so I spent less then 300$ bucks on a job that would cost the normal consumer like probably 1000$-1500$roughly... LoL fun fun fun.. but you need to work on other peoples cars to make money and work on your own when you have the time..
