Wrong RPM readings and OIL Smell??

RPM's are too high ( by alot) , what to do? Also car was just purchased and detailed but I do have an oil smell?? Is it just the detailer engine spray??

I would guess that it is your gauge cluster that is bad and the oil smell could be a number of things the 90's are known to leak oil, have you checked your oil level to see where it is or are you having to add alot of oil to the motor?

First check you oil filter housing lines they leak pretty bad there is a replacment set of lines you can buy from the dealerIt is a updated set, also check the oil pan bolts they tend to loosen over time and finaly check the bolts holding the exhaust manifolds in place they also tend to lossen there is one stud that actually threads into a oil passage and it is the one that usually is the problem..
