After a long time out of Vette's, I picked up an '80 two years ago cheap! Finally ready to begin the project. During the time the car sat, I decided I had to have a couple things for it. I really want the 1982 Collector Edition openable rear window. I need everything to covert my 1980. Also, power remote mirrors would be nice. But the window is a must! I figure it's probably the only time in my life I'm going to undertake a project like this, so I might as well do it exactly like I want. I asking about it now, because it seems like a long shot to find one at a reasonable price. I was thinking it might be better to sell the '80 now, and look for a rough 1982 CE this winter that might be a better starting point, as it'll have the rear hatch, and, most likely, the power remote mirrors and the electric seat. The fine folks down at Pacific Corvette here in the Seattle area tell me the area under the seat in '81,'82's w/power seats was enlarged to fit the electric stuff. So a retro fit of a power seat to my '80 isn't gonna happen. While the power seat would be nice, is not something I have to have. So, if you have the '82 CE hatch and related hardware, or a power mirror set up, or both, (or maybe you have a rough CE!)please drop me a line. Please include your asking prices. Also, if you've any experience with such a conversion and would care to relate it, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
