Yet another Horny Post

Yes yes - Have read back in the archives.
See that I am not alone with the sick sounding C4 horn sound.

For some reason I recall a post talking about a retro fit horn that was not that loud from the cabin, but would scare the glasses off the granny infront of ya doing 20 in a 45 zone.

Anyone recall what that horn was?

Or, does anyone know of a simpler source for easy/affordable horn replacement on a 96?

I got mine from JC Whitney there OEM parts division for like $25 it was the Pass side horn that quit on my 96. The dealer said both horns would have to be replaced for good sound but not so. My horns sound great. The Pass side is the high note the driver side the low.

Just ordered a pair for a 90 from JC Whitney/Car Parts.com. They were $23 and $25 dollars for the low and high tone horns. I'm not sure which side is which though because one doesn't work and the other sounds like a dying lamb.

The best way to get hits on your thread is make it sound like sex in here :L The JC Whitney horns are nice Borg Warner units. You will have to paint the back of the horn and bracket a semi gloss black so it looks more OEM. Chevrolet no longer makes the factory C4 horns.
