Now that's a schweet looking ride!! My only beef, and this is just me being fussy, I'm not into lettering on the sides of cars.

It is a body kit by GrandTurismo....

GrandTurismo, made LM bodies for Callaway for VERY short time in Italy and they sold them as installed kits ( no chassis or engine upgrades that I know of). The maker is Giuseppi Fornasari and was involved with Callaway Competition when they raced the LM in Italy and tested the C7R there. They were the Italian distributor for Callaway as well, for a very short time.

I thought (i had read somewhere on this forum) the italian LM bodie's were build without Callaway..? Therefor fake copy's.

Groeten Peter.

I really don't know......

I think GrandTursimo only did body conversions, and they were distributors for Callaway for a brief time from what I was told ( am not sure if they ever sold a car that was officially Callaway?) . Real Callaway, no, but they are pretty...you must admit..

Peter is right...I was just trying to be nice about it. That car isn't authorized by Callaway.

Gentlemen, I discussed this in brief w/ Mike Z. @ Callaway Cars the other day and he agreed that they were not officially done by Callaway Cars or any subsidiaries of the company made those body parts - Apparently the official relationship ended with the Augusta racing team before Augusta's final season racing the LM cars - spares were needed and parts were made by the team and the cars seen out of Italy as well - no Callaway Connection for all but maybe one of the cars...

Beautiful wrapper - no engine or chassis upgrades through Callaway though.

Also, Big John, who owns the LM ZR1 car, was sharing some points of difference between the Italian cars and the Old Lyme LM's - Thanks John! Good stuff :m

What is the one car that may be called Callaway from Italy

I have seen several, what color was it?...thanx

Thanks Chris for checking with Mike on clarifying the Italian LM story. I remember brousing and finding an Italian site that was selling LMs I thought I had posted in here but don't quite remember.

Anyone engaging in any special winter projects? I myself will be getting the more top-end CC306 cam, its going to sound nasty. Not sure if a Callaway is allowed to sound lopey wicked. LOL Take care everyone......

Johnny

I have pictures of that car and will try to post tomorrow.

It was featured in several Italian magazines

Here I go again...

Sorry, Critt99, but I'm calling you out on this one.

I don't believe you took that picture. There are too many things in that pic that look like a photoshop job. Unless of course, you took the 'base' picture yourself and then did it up in photoshop...

Nonetheless, I like the way the car looks for being a C4... :upthumbs
