I recently changed from stock pipes on my 2000 coupe to a beautiful set of Z 06's with only 15,000 miles on them that I bought from Angelo Pousa who lives in South Carolina. Just a few days before this I had the steering column lock recall done and an axle seal. They couldn't do it in one day so they lent me a 2006 Cadillac Deville DTS, with a Northstar engine.
I used to say the stock exhaust on my Corvette was as quiet as a Cadillac- well I was wrong! The stock exhaust is quieter than the Deville, and I think that the Z-06 is maybe just a bit quieter than the Cady- except when you really boot the Vette. The Z06 pipes definitely deliver on more power- does anyone know for sure how much more with just the cat backs?
Back to Angelo. What a Gentleman. He packed those mufflers like they were a fine museum piece of china or something. Each tip on the muffler was wrapped in a fresh new shop towel, and the whole assembly was covered in bubble wrap tape, then emersed in fiberfill peanuts in an enormous cardboard box sent up north via UPS. There was no way he was going to let anything happen to those mufflers. Great to do business with people like that!
