Hello all,

Trying to park my z06 in the garage, RPM started
jumping between 200-900. Hessing sound coming from engine, sounded like an air leak. Put it in nuetral, try to realse cluth, I hear a clicking sound. Finally the engine stopped. Tried to start, no luck.

Checked HALTEC air system, all is tight, the shifter is shifting fine it's a Husrt.

Not sure what the problem is. No DIC codes or warning lights of any kind.

Any help please?

Thanks

Hi there,
What happened prior to this??? Any drivability concerns????
The symptom that you are explaining, is that the vacuum booster hose was disconnected, by the large hissing noise.
I would check this.

Hi c4c5,

No drivability issues at all prior to this. I did not disconnect any vaccum booster hose. The HALTEC air intake was added about 4 months ago. The HURST shifter added about 6 weeks ago.

Thanks

OK,
Chevy service said the problem was the right hand fuel level sensor caused the problems. Code P1431.

Can someone explain why would a fuel sensor cause that many problems?

I can understand the car will not start if the engine is getting info that no fuel is available, but the clicking noise when releasing the clutch is beyond me. Chevy service says this is a saftey feature?

Hi there,
I would suspect that the clicking noise is just a broken return spring on the clutch pedal, if you are hearing it inside the vehicle.
As for the drivability, I cannot speculate on this.
