2002 Torch Red Coupe
Hi

I have used Zaino on my last (96 Torch Red) vette and l was very happy with it and used only 100% domestic towels and had no problems as far as l could tell.

Now on my 02 also Torch Red l will be using Zaino again. Even though they came out with Z-2 pro l sill have a half of a bottle of re Z-2 left over so l will use it up. I also have the Z-1 which l will also use.

The questions is l just ordered from "Shakpak" microfiber towels of different sizes to use on my 2002 because the paint is flawless for sure.
Zaino's site recommends using 100% cotton American towels instead of microfiber towels until he completely researchs the various one sold. He also mentioned that form the same seller there are vast differences in quality.

Next, l plan on using the Zaino 100% cotton applicator that l have been using
or should l use the microfiber applicator l bought from Shakpak? And should l clean off the Zaino with a micro or a reg cotton towel?

Thanks

Alan

Well, you know my thought on that, Alan. As i dont know anything, i went to the 'T' with his tips & tricks. I hope someone will chime in that has more experience with this.

I have to say i was VERY happy with the results, but i might have gone way overboard.. ;)

May of my customers have switched over to microfiber (70% polyester, 30% polyamide).

Some work quite well and other will scratch. That's what the Zaino website was telling you. These towels are made over in southeast Asia and their quaility from batch to batch varies. It's been this way for a few years.

I love microfiber on windows but that's about all I will use them on at this time.

One thing you can try is on one of your old CD-ROMs or one of those AOL promotion CDs you get in the mail.... Try rubbing the Shak-pak towels and see if it scratches. If so, I wouldn't use it on your paint.

I have a partner that has been using neatitems.com microfiber towels and he hasn't had a bad batch yet. Maybe other companys are improving. I know the ones you buy in Walmart are NOT consistent.
