Is Zaino Bros Polish as good as I hear it is? And is it easy to use?

Thanks in advance.

Yes it is. It is definetly one of the best, if not the best in the buisness.

If you apply it the way they recomened, after the first time through its very easy. You'll be done with the whole car in 15 minutes after the first time you do the whole process.

We had a big thread on this over at the LOD boards. If you care to hear more, I can get a link to that thread.

just has to happen. When you look for something you can't find it. I'll keep looking for the thread and I'll post it up when I find it.

Lucky,

We use Zaino polish on both Corvettes and think it's the best! You can find out a lot of info from their site -- www.zainobros.com.

The initial process is time consuming, plan on spending the better part of an afternoon. You'll first wash the car with Dawn dishsoap to strip all the old wax off. Then you'll clay the car, then wash it with Zaino car wash, then Z1 goes on, then Z5 or Z2 depending on the color of your car.
Z5 works great on darker colors while the Z2 is good for lighter colors.
The most time consuming part is the claying and drying time between coats.

After the intial process all you need to use is your Z2 or Z5 after washing the car. This stuff goes on and comes off easier than anything else I have used.
It's definetly worth it.

What you'll need :
-Z7 Car wash
-Z18 Clay bar
-Z1
-Z2 or Z5

You can order online from Eckler's, if you order directly from Zaino you'll have to send in a check so it will take longer to get your stuff , atleast that is how it used to be.

Everything I've read on the subject said to NEVER use anything but car wash soap. Detergent is especially bad. Its so cheap, so why use dish soap?

dmkoger,
The "Dawn Wash" is a one time thing to remove all other types of wax or polish. The reason detergent is not good to use on a regular basis is because it removes the oils from the paint surface layer, and this can dull the finish over time. The one-time use shouldn't harm the paint at all. Hope this helps explain the apparent conflict of detergent vs car wash.

PS: I haven't used the Zaino products myself yet, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. Go to the Zaino web site, lots of info there, plus pricing on their products, and a downloadable order form.

The only time you want to use dish soap is when you want the old wax off.... to super clean the car before a fresh wax. Any other time you should use car wash soap... it will keep the wax on the car.

Remember the saying "You can never be to thin"...that goes for Zaino also...use thin coats.

dawn wash

I've already applied the Zaino Z1,2 this year. Next season,
do I have to dawn wash it again to remove the old stuff? I
do have some water spots that should be removed with clay,
so I am going to do at least that before I hit it with Z1 and then
Z2.

Vettepilot, that makes sense. Thanks for the info. Can't be too careful with my baby!

What I do is use the Z1 once a year and put it right on over the old stuff. Maybe some others do differently.
Just my .02 here but what I would do is just dawn the area(s) you're going to clay.

Its my understanding that if you use the claybar you need to do the whole system . Cliff

I did not believe all the Zaino comments either but finally broke down and ordered the stuff. All I can say is it is totally awesome stuff. The initial application is a pain in the butt, but after that it is a piece of cake to use. The stuff leaves no white residue like wax and goes on and comes off real easy. You also might want to try the leather conditioner it smells just like leather and makes the interior look great. ( it is more of a dull shine, not like armorall)

DkBG,
If you clay you do not have to do the whole system over again, just do another coat of Z-5 or Z-2. Always give it a quick bath after claying, just to be safe. Then do a Z-5, or Z-2.
