Hi All-

The synchronizers/shift forks in my ZF are fairly worn. It appears that both ZF and GM have disowned this transmission. Has anyone done a write-up of replacing the ZF with a T-56... fitment and parts-needed?

The cheapest I saw synchronizers for was about $700... if I can keep the parts cost to below $1000, I wouldn't mind rebuilding it... otherwise I would rather have some sort of a factory supported transmission... does anyone have a line on parts for the S6-40?

Thanks for any input!

Not sure yet... I'm more concerned with repairing/replacing it first.

How much do you want for your badly worn ZF?

there is a web site called http://www.ZFdoc.com/ . Maybe they can help you. I hear if you send an e-mail there is someone there that will give you an intelligent answer. Good luck, Guy

:beer Contact Bill....he is the ZF guru.

Thanks guys... I just sent him an e-mail.

If I end up getting the ZF rebuilt... how often are you all changing oil in it? I don't have any useful documentation for the car yet... but from zfdoc's website looks like 12,000 miles.

HI, keep the ZF it is a much better tranny, but you will find that out shortly. thanks bob.

I'd get zf rebuilt & chg fluid annual (or more if raced:)

Bill at zf doc is your man:)

He has helped me a couple of times when I replaced my clutch slave by phone & email. The guy is the best.
