ZR1 wheels?

One thing, they don't look like the factory wheels... they are more square. I have seen them in person and I could definitely tell they were 'fake' GM look-alikes. I don't think a regular joe off the street could tell though

I just bought a set from him, the polished rims for 590.00.....
They came in fast and well packed. And look beautiful...threw a new set of Firestone SZ-50's 275/40/17 and the car looks completely different.
I would highly recommend them.

That's pretty ironic, Eagle85C4. Remember, in a thread a while back we were throwing around the idea of trying to go in and get a discount on rims from AAA Wheels in Michigan? Well, after doing some more homework on the situation, I had decided to buy a set on Ebay from O.E. Wheel Distributors in Floridia. I spoke with them on the phone the other day and plan on ordering them in a week or two. I was going to write you to let you know that I wouldn't be using AAA.

I'm glad you like yours. I hope the chrome ones that I'm gonna order from them are just as nice as your polished.

Is that an exchange price or flat deal on the wheels???

I sent a few e-mails out to people who had purchased the same wheels from him lately but I hadn't received any replies yet. I'm happy to hear yours are good quality.

I didn't notice a difference between those and real GM so I think I'll be happy with them. I'm not a "show car" owner.

When I bought my '95 last month the dealer had just put on brand new tires so I'm hoping to move them over to the new rims and avoid new tire prices.

Thanks for the replies!

Kurt

Flat out....deliverd to me it was 670.00 total for the four rims and center caps.

Good deal!

Okay, question...

My front wheels are 8.5" and the rear wheels are 9.5". Most of the ZR1 wheels I'm seeing are just 9.5". I was hoping to use the new tires that were put on the stock "sawblades" on the ZR1 wheels. Did the ZR1 wheels only come in 9.5"? Will there be any problem sliding them into the front on my '95?

Z51 and Z07 equipped C4's, as well as 88-92 Corvettes (88 with 17 inch wheels) have the wider front tires. The tire will look a bit funny if you keep the 255 tire. Upgrade all four to 275/40 or 285/40 tires to keep them all the same. The stock Z51 and Z07 cars came with all 275/40's. They seem to be much cheaper and easier to find than the 285's anyway.

My car's previous owner put 255's on the front of my Z07 (for what ever reason $$$$) They do look funny, but so far I am the only one who has noticed. My car came new with 275's all around. So you can use the tires you have. As soon as I get some $$ the ZR1's 9.5" front and 11" rears are going on with new rubber.

Just ordered my wheels...

I ordered a set of 17 x 9.5 chrome ZR-1 reproductions from O. E. Wheel Distributors today (as talked about at the start of this post). Total came to $828.00 with shipping and chrome lugs and valve stems.

They should arrive within 10 days. I'll give y'all my opinion of them when I get 'em.

Got the wheels but...

Well, I was very happy to receive the wheels in about 7 days. However, after inspecting them, I'm going to have to call them about sending 2 of the wheels back for replacements. On one, there is a small spot of rust (certain to spread if left as is) and some yellow/golden discoloration of the chrome in places and on another wheel, it appears that the chrome was applied over an area of curb rash on the lip of the wheel.

So, I'm pretty bummed out about the whole situation, as I wanted to have them on before the holiday.

For those that are interested in possibly dealing with this company in the future, I'll be sure to let you know how they handle the returns and replacements.

Just a follow up for anyone who was interested...

O. E. Wheel Distributors were very good about accepting the 2 bad wheels and sent Fed Ex to pick them up. I received 2 new wheels in about 5 days and they were absolutely perfect.

I just got my tires transferred over and balanced and they look great! They are a good bit lighter than my factory wheels were too...so that's a plus!
