Please see the previous thread for original post, Thanks.

I finally got to look at the Holley Carb. today for 15 minutes. There is a number on the carb, facing the front on the driver's side at the top. The number is : 3906631-DA and just below it is 3810 0946. This the Holley on the car, 1967 Convert. 327/350 hp, 4 spd & AC.

There is a second Holley that is in a Holley Box, it has the numbers in the same place and they are 3906631-DA and just below that is LIST 3810 984. It is in the box and looks to be ready for a rebuild.

The only other numbers that are visable are on the top of the carb, just inside the air cleaner ring/gasket surface and they both say the same number cast raised in them, it's GR 2747 B.

Any help in figuring out when these were manufactured, would one be better than the other, any clues???

Thanks for any knowledge or info how to proceed other than getting needle/seat and float, or a rebuild of the one in the box, are they the same item and parts are interchangeable/similar so the same parts could be ordered for both?

And can anyone recommend a carb rebuild place in SoCal that will not destroy either? I want it done right, enough gas fountains in the garage!

Thanks everyone for your help, again!

Bob

I have book on holleys I will look up your numbers when I get a chance tomorow. I have only heard GREAT things about a fellow named jerry luck. I will have to find his number, He just doesnt rebuild a carb he actually remanufactors a carb replanning all of the machined surfaces on it,When he is done its better then when it left the holley factory

Bob - Both are correct service replacements for the original 3810; the one dated 984 was made in August, 1969, and the one dated 0946 was made in early April, 1976. Chuck Smith is a great Holley rebuilder out your way:

IH2LOSE & JohnZ,

Thanks for the info. and the Rebuild Contacts. I will contact them and see when and how to get both carbs to a recommended source for the necessary repairs ASAP.

JohnZ,

I can see the #984 being August of 69, but how does the lower number work out to April of 76? Something to do with the "0" at the begining of the #? And originaly shouldn't there be a gas filter inline somewhere, before the pump, after the pump, and I'm assuming that it would have been a "AC Delco" Brand fuel Filter?

Thank You Both for the help and info.

Bob

I have a 67, 327/300. It has been in the family since new, but when I was in Vietnam my Mother had some work done on it. I'm in the process of cleaning it up. I think the carb has been changed because I cannot find any numbers mentioned in this post. It has 8493D and D1 2783 stamped (ink) on it. I can see part of a number LS31?? on the front on driver's side 5271 is under it. It also has 2762 inside.

Your '67 327/300 should have a Holley 3810 on it. Photos below (of my '67 327/300) show what it should look like overall, and what should be stamped on the front side of the choke air horn. Can you post a couple of photos of what you have? :)

Mine has "List 3310-2 and under it 2773" I have not figured out how to insert figs. and I do not have a URL to put them. I will try to send them to you via your email.

Watosh, Welcome to CAC. I will PM you some instructions on how to post pictures here. I see why you posted in this old thread, but I might suggest that you start a new thread with your questions. We have some very knowledgable people here to help you out.

That's the Holley "universal" aftermarket replacement carburetor that's been sold in speed shops for decades; that one was made on the 277th day of 1983 or 1993.

Thanks. I will start looking for one When I can figure out when it was made. I guess it will be 3 digits with something below a 7 at the end.
