Important! Final 2013 Corvette Production Numbers Released

new_hampster,

You're not being a nag. Thank you for pointing this out. I have a call into GM for verification. Once I get the verification from them and update the page and pdf, I'll post back here.

Are you ready for spring yet? This winter in New Hampshire has been brutal!!!!

-Rob

You bet. Been looking at 427 verts and itching to trade something, but my toys are still in storage. Still 6 inches on the ground here. Bummer.

:confused I guess I don't understand how the numbers were tracked to begin with.
I'm not sure. The numbers reported here came straight from the Bowling Green Assembly Plant.

Yep. I still have just under a foot in some areas of my back yard. It's slowly disappearing.

The numbers could not have been tracked if all C6's were in the same bucket. Certainly, somebody kept track of how many 60th Anniversary Packages, how many 427's, etc, were sold. If the plant didn't track them, and YG is a marketing designation, maybe it was marketing that tracked the numbers. That's where the YG/YY and 07/67/87 choices would be specified - when a car was ordered.

That sounds like a lazy answer. The YG, YY, 07, 67 and 87 designations are known as sales codes and track the models that are produced. GM gives the correct VIN number breakdown to the insurance industry and law enforcement. The VIN is the only way to break down the basics of what a vehicle is. The RPO sticker breaks down the options on each vehicle and all of that information is stored electronically and can be sorted, hence the production number totals.
