hi I have a 1989 corvette and my fuel tank is building a lot of pressure up it almost blows back at you when you open the fuel cap is this a vent problem and if so where do I find it at

I'm not an expert but you should have some pressure. When you go through removal procedures for injectors & fuel regulator it tells you to relieve pressure in tank by loosening cap. I'm not aware of a vent but interestingly enough, if you let that water drain tube get blocked, water will get in the tank. So it isn't airtight. My guess is you're loosening the gas cap while the engine is running or just after you shut the engine off while pressure is at maximum.

As far as pressure to the system you should have about 40 psi in a stock setup.
