Construction equipment width

Couple Things...............

I hope the dead soldiers in that photo were a result of a break and not the felling of the tree. Second, what is that lawn mower doing hauling brush? We use pan dumps, burry it or burn it, depending on whether or not there's any benfit to inhaling the "smoke"

Lou,

Those Black Labels were offered up to the tree god "after" the tree was down. ;)

The mower hauled about ten loads of trunk sections and branches. The trunk sections are seasoning for next winter's cold evening fires......the branches are waiting burning on my burn-pile in the back when the wind dies down a bit.

ahh, :upthumbs burn piles ain't country living great :upthumbs

When you putting up a Chicken Coop so you can have fresh eggs?

Funny..............

I don't see a drink holder on that piece of heavy equipment. Careful what you burn in that chiminey, Pine is noted for leaving a heavey residue capable of causing internal fires you can't put out, kinda like the ones us older guys get when we...................ah, nevermind, you know what I'm talking about, don't you?

It's on my to-do list, Lou. :D

;LOL

Thanks, Lou. I'll keep the pine for the big 'ol evening bonfires in front of the new Woman-Hater's clubhouse. The boyz'll need something to keep their toes warm when they're guzzling back some cool ones. ;)

In anticipation of weaving the new drive through the trees, I think I'll rent a ditch-witch to lay out the edges prior to excavation. By cutting through the roots in the path first, I'll eliminate disturbing or popping any roots above ground on either side of the excavation.

I'll also use the machine to run a utility trench from the house to the garage.

Apparently, one of the local ladies likes gettin' down and dirty, but I hate to take advantage, so I guess I'll rent. ;)

..Man..I'm Glad I'm a City Slicker....... I'll just sit back and watch:D

Ya Know........

By the way, ladies, if you're wondering about how to tighten up those abs, methinks the young lady above has it all figured out. :D
I knew when we first met, there was a "White Knight" sort of thing going on with you, a true American (Canadian) hero image. Chivalry is NOT dead, but if you're passing that up to rent a ditch witch with wheels and not t!t's, you're fried.:boogie

Well, you see Lou, she'd be down there diggin', and my chivalry would get the best of me.

"Here, here, young lady. Can't be allowing you to perspire like that while I just watch. I'd hate to see you get all dirty and stuff. Just pass me that shovel." :naughty:

Next thing you know, Lou, I'd be shovelling and she'd be watchin'. ;LOL

When I dropped that 55-foot pine, I promised to plant something as atonement.

I picked up 12 of these Emerald Cedars today....almost 6' tall......for only $25 each. They grow to 12'-15' tall and 3'-4' wide. Most other prices I've seen lately are $44 each for less than 4' tall.

Once the garage materials are delivered, I'll buy and plant a bunch more. It'll be like Sherwood Forest around here. ;)

By the way, I ordered up a lot survey over a month ago from the only surveyor in town. He keeps promising. :eyerole Geesh. I'm about ready to bring someone in from out of town.

Careful! Small town folks don't like being rushed! ;)

Offering to meet for Coffee or Lunch wouldn't hurt either ;) In the "City" it's job, and usually folks hate inspectors / city hall... ~ ... in a small town it's a profession and respected ;) (in most cases ;LOL )

A ride in HEAVEN wouldn't be out of the question either ;) :lou

Back to the driveway: just plain old crushed limestone isn't dusty after it has been rained on once or watered down with a hose. It compacts well and lasts a long time. I just recovered my drive after 15 years with a finer grade and it doesn't make any dust at all, even when my wife flat tracks down it.

Just be sure to excavate down deeper than the top soil and put in a good base of gravel or mill run* limestone. Have it rolled in if possible then cover it with a layer of the golf ball size stone. finish with a layer of the finer stone rolled in well and you will have a firm drive that won't get mushy in the spring and will drain well. You could do the base then lay a strip of sod down the middle before applying the top grades of stone to the tire track areas. If you lay sod remember to never let it dry out until it is well established or you will have a brown strip down your drive.

*Mill run is the stone that comes just as it went through the crusher. It has all of the small chips and powder in it and this helps it to bind together and compact like conctete. This is like the base for a highway.

Did the surveyor show up yet?
