my RED 63SWC needs a paintjob......I am not really fond of the stock 63 red, it has too much orange in it. I like the C5 Torch Red (same color my 60 is as well as the 2 C5's we have)

So what color and why?

The 63 is all there....red interior, needs dash pad and steergin wheel replaced, matching numbers...4 speed...no rust, eat off the bottom, mechanical very good, re wired, etc etc.....needs a bit of chrome here and there, but a very solid car. Does torch red hurt the value? I bought this car cause I liked it...but it needs paint.....so take a vote and leave your comments....

although not on your list, black or white would be good with the red interior... besides i think its illegal to own 4 red vettes in ohio!

Are you going to just paint the outside? If so, go back to stock.
The torch red would keep your theme going. Also, if they are all torch red, you only need one bottle of touch-up paint. :)

and it is easy to find touch up paint both brush and spray!

It depends on if you plan to sell it in the future. You will go nuts with prospective buyers telling you that it's the wrong red, how much it will cost them to correct it, and that they want the price discounted at least that amount. If you plan on keeping it long term paint it plaid if that's what you like.

OMG....me and the car could get STONED for something like that....permanantly disbarred from this site, cast out where no one would talk to me, whispers and pointing as I walked down the rows at Carlisle........sigh the risks of going it different....

Hi Herb,
If it's about the money, paint it stock. If it's about your happiness, paint it whatever floats your boat. ;)
I'd paint it stock,I'd give my left...........well maybe not:boogie:boogie for a matching # Red 63 SWC!! But I know I'd be Freaking Out if I knew it was all correct except the color!!;shrug :upthumbs :cool

A good friend who said " I WILL NEVER SELL THIS CAR" just went thru the wrong red color problem. He feels it cost him $15000 at the sale. Then he said, "We are only caretakers.......why did I change what was original on the car?" In his case the car was a survivor........that he just had to paint. So he really lost the 15 plus his paint job cost.
