:SteerI was just wondering what oil filter everyone is using in their cars.I have been using the Mobil 1 M1-111 in my car . What are you guys using?

I use AC Delco filters. I just changed mine and used a smaller filter to get a little more clearance from the exhaust system. The 46 from a Gen III engine will fit fine, or a 61 if you want it a little longer.

The last time I changed before winter was a K&N. I'd love any feedback on this filter. Jeff

I think I have Original AC Delco PF-25's to last me through the year 3000. :D

Me too... :ohnoes

Arnold, are you saying the PF46 is good for the L98 blocks?

Let's all be clear here when we say for example, PF25 = B2K TT filter repl.
FWIW, a Champion FIlter was fitted on most, as new. If you NCRS or BG your car w/. a PF25 though, it is WRONG! Technically speaking ;)

for both cars i use the napa gold, wait before you boo. they are wix filters and for the zr1 have a great anti drain back valve

Hmm... never seen any documentation on this before. Is it on some Callaway document? If not then I would think it reverts to the GM specific part.

Chris,
The thread is the same and the seal will fit the adapter that Callaway used for the oil cooler line adapter.

I use a Fram just for the grip. I know i can just use one of those strap wrench things, but in my opinion if i cant get the filter loose with both hands its on too tight.

I have four PF25 s put away for now.

I had a 79 that I took through the NCRS ranks. That was my filter also. Every year at Carlisle I would find one.
Jeff

That's good info as the older PF25s become less and less avail. :bash

What are your suggestions for the newer LSx cars?? ;shrug
I used the ac61. The 48 has different threads. It will not work on the Gen I. I choose the 61 because it is the same one as the Northstar engine and I have lots of them.:D
