The sport seats have the additional controls for the lumbar support in the center console. A switch for pass/driver. They also look different than the standard seats. Here is a picture of what 94-96 sport seats look like. They have the diagonal seam running across the back and seat.

Way to go Junk you beat me to it.

OUTSTANDING! Thanks for that info.

That'll give me just one more item for my insurance damage appraiser to add to his list since my car was destroyed by fire last Monday.

I really appreciate the info.

what happened?

what happened?

Here's the deal:

I went out and started the car to go to the grocery store. When the engine started if felt a little rough, so I blipped the throttle a couple of times but didn't pay much more attention to it even though it had never done that before.

As I was backing out I noticed wisps of smoke coming from under the hood in the windshield wiper are. So I shifted into Park, pulled the hood release and got out. As soon as I raised the hood, BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flames jumped at least 10 feet into the air. So I tried slapping on the flames with a towel I had in the back of the car; NO GOOD. A guy came by with a fire extinguisher; NO GOOD.

I called 911 and reported it and by this times the entire engine was engulfed.
By the time the FD arrived, both front fires exploded, windshield exploded, dash, steering wheel, seats, carpet, door panels had been consumed and the rear hatch glass exploded too.

FD had been in Dallas fighting another fire, so it took them longer to arrive.
An autospy two days later showed one of the two fuel lines near #6/#8 plugs was leaking gas.

So the car's a total. I've got a few more in line to look at as a replacement, so I expect I'll be back on the road in a week or two.

i know where a triple black 98 is for 25 grand 40000 miles

Thanks for that info, but I'm locked into C4s. I don't care for the later model body styles. Just a personal preference thing I guess.

Thanks anyway, but I want a 96 (or a 95 as a fall-back position), Power Sport Seats, Auto Climate Control, 3.07 gear, Delco-Bose Gold, under 50K and an asking price listed at 15K or less.

I've found quite a few which meet those specs. One even has adjustable suspension, clear CARFAX, garage kept, 43K mileage and extremely clean condition.

With economy being as it is, I expect a lot more to be offered for sale at a lot less than the 20K (+/-) prices we've become accustomed to seeing. It's becoming a "buyer's market".

I plan to busy next week looking at as many as I can.
