I am having an issue all of a sudden my car ran really rough and threw up a check engine code, I scanned it it is PO306 cylinder 6 misfire, can anyone tell me the troubleshooting steps for this code, and or how to correct it. Thanks.
Rob

It could be a simple matter to check.
Such as:
A fouled spark plug.
A loose spark plug wire, or loose connection to the coil.

I would pull the passenger side rocker cover and check for a loose plug wire first.
Then if it keeps throwing a code, pull the plug and see if it's carboned up.
Put a can of Techron in the tank if it is, the rest will not be far behind.
You could be thinking about replacing the plugs and wires in the near future, but it may not be necessary. They should be good for at least 50,000 miles.

which plug is cylinder 6? Is it the third one back on the passenger side? Thanks

Got it it was the wire to the plug, thanks for the quick response and help!:beer

Yes it is.
I don't find a Code P0306 on my Corvette code list, but it is on my OBDII list as #6 misfire.
I suppose it could be a bad connection to the injector, or a faulty injector, but let's start with the easy stuff first.:)
