Is it just me?

I ran across another book that has a photo of my car in it - The Standard Catalog of Corvette, 2nd Edition. This is the 4th or 5th book I've found, and in all but one, the car is identified wrong. I've seen it identified as a Series II Speedster, a CR1, or, in this case, a 1992 Callaway Speedster. :mad

I realize mine is the only one I really look for (as I build a portfolio for the car), so maybe I'm not alone. On the other hand, I often see references to and photos of the other TT Speedsters, but I don't recall them being identified wrong.

So I'm curious. Has anybody else noticed this on either your car or Callaway's in general? Maybe it is just that there are relatively few out there and they aren't as well known and identified? Or is it just my car that they rarely get right? :ugh

I hear ya, the World of Mis-information is much larger than the World of Fact when it comes to these cars.

It seems that anyone with half a media credential can get a book deal about Corvettes and COMPLETELY screw up the entire Callaway portion.

I don't buy Corvette books for that very reason. I typically know more than the author about what he's writing.

Oh so true... in many cases the Author's do not dedicate more than 1 or two pages to the cars and most seem to repeat each other's mistakes rather than do the research. You are always welcomed to write your own book about your car, not that anyone already has :chuckle

I provided images to a publisher (may be the same as the book you refer to) and there are some images mis-labled even in the properties they were provided the right stuff. Hmm.... Someone should write a book ;)

Luigi seems to always be full of surprises. I didn't know about a book either.

I could write a book about Callaway C8s with Anthony's help, but unfortunately, I don't think anybody but Anthony, me, and about 10 other people would buy it.
