I just stored my car about a week ago and put a battery tender on it. The next morning it had a full charge on the battery. Should I turn the tender off or just leave it on. When its charging there is a red light on but it has stayed on the green light for over a week. The tender is warm so I know its still on. I thought it would go into a dormant mode when its not charging?

If it's an actual "Battery Tender" - you'll be fine with leaving it connected. They're the best!

Most battery tenders, or float chargers will charge the battery till it's almost full 12Volts, then shut off. I have a lectriclimited 'BatteryButler' which is a float charger and has a red and green light and both are on when it's charging, but the red light gose out once the battery is full so it soesn't overcharge the battery.

I have battery tenders on three vehicles, and the red light goes on when they initially charge, then the green light goes on in the mainting phase. I've used them for 4 years and have left them on for 5 months with no problem. In the spring, when I take them out of storage, they start immediately.
