I've had three C4's, an 87,88, and best of all, a 93 Ruby Red. Just bought this 99 FRC in late November.
Question 1 I noticed the rear trunk has two lights that were not working. I pulled out the light and there is a wire attached but no bulb. The owners manual does not list a bulb, is there supposed to be one. ???
Question 2. The passenger side speaker just stopped working, it only makes a humming sound. I have a replacement and I'm not sure how to remove the door panel I found d thread on the forum showning how it come apart. I don't have the tool they show to pop out the plastic rivet and was wondering is a screwdriver would work. I did not want to break the rivets .
Thanks for the help. I'll check later, going out for dinner and a beer.

HPG,
I don't have any answers to your questions, but I did want to congratulate you on your acquisition. You'll love the C5!

Congrats on a C5 ,I moved from an 87 to 03 and I liked the O3 a lot .I don't remember a trunk light in the 03 but it was a vert.

Your close enough to GM Junkie in Old Fort NC if you run across something you can fix.

And your close enough to do the dragon with us .

OK, thanks for the help and comments. Going to wait for better weather, too cold to tackle projects outside this time of year.

Congrats on your move to a C5, HPG, and welcome to the CAC! I made the transition from a '94 (my first Vette) to a '98 and I've been lovin' every minute of it. :thumb

When you have time and if you're so inclined, post a new thread in the New Member forum ( click me ) and tell us a bit about yourself and your C5.

And here's a thread which will introduce you to more info about our nifty little website: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com...w-members-welcome-corvette-action-center.html

Sorry - I just realized you've been a member longer than I have! :L

Our paths haven't crossed so I didn't realize I was welcoming an Old Timer. ;)

Oh well... howdy and welcome to the C5 world. :w

No problem. Sorry C5 owners. It is a great car and a step up from C4's. However, I still miss the Ruby and regret selling a beautiful car with only 15 K miles. Actually, I was looking for a C5 when I found the Ruby with only 8K miles and could not resist the car. :upthumbs
I had the 99 in the local shop and had the clutch, brake, and anti freeze changed. Next will be the rear and transmission. I should be ready to go by Spring. :cool

I got a C5 for 'Vettemas. I also got the official repair manual. LOVE the manual. Get the manual! It really is money well spent!

I also have been having some "issues". Manual explained what, why and how to repair.

I'm a shade tree mechanic and a girl. And I understand and can use the manual.

And congratulations!
