Okay, if someone can explain this.
Why would a professional Corvette racer/tech recommend 24 mm or 30mm (SOLID) sway bars in front. If TUBULAR then 24mm or 26mm?
any reasons?

I don't know, mine came from the factory with a 30mm front bar (Z07) and a 24mm rear bar, both solid. These were the "handling package" pieces.

Hey Tom, I am installing a 30mm sway bar on my 1984.
The 1984 Corvette sway bars have a lip in the center, possibly because they have to clear the lower radiator fan shroud.
I was just curious, do you have a different type of fan shroud?
if you have access, can you post an image?
thanks

Mine is all stock. I had the bar off about a year ago replacing the bushings, I don't remember any lip. I will try to get a picture of the under side of the car where the bar is, but I can't say if the shroud is different from any other C4.

Because GM made front stab bars for C4 in only a limited number of diameters and styles.

24 mm solid (base 84-85 only)
25 mm solid (84 Z51 only)
30 mm solid (FE3 front 85-95
24 mm tubular (96 convertibles only)
26 mm tubular (base 86-95 and 96 coupe base)

The stabilizer bar selection should be made after you decide what springs to use.

Do these sizes apply to both front and rear? I have 96 base coupe and looking to replace bushing with polyurethane ones.

Tom, just wondering, my front and rear sway bars are the same due to the Z07 package in 1995, but what is the option?

FE7 - SUSPENSION SYSTEM, FRT & RR HD, VAR 3

Does your build sheet reflect the same?

pionex, wish I could check it out for you on my build sheet, but, I let all the info go when I traded the car. I believe mine was FE7, but the option Z07 alone would specify the larger sway bars.
