Have a slow drain on battery and ended up putting a quick disconnect on it and leave it disconnected most of the time. I went to drive it to work today and nothing but clicking when I turned ignition. It has been unplugged so I was surprised it was dead. It got up to over 90 degrees today, maybe the battery running down and getting recharged a couple of times before I finally installed the quick disconnect made the battery weak and hot outside temperatures sped up the problem? Battery is only a year old...had to get a the current battery from AAA when it wouldn't start at the gas station during lunch one day. I guess the right solution is to find out what the **** is draining the battery, but sure would like to make the battery last longer than a year until I can diagnose. Luckily my brothers 77 that he keeps at my garage was available so still got to drive a vette today!

I use a quick disconnect on my 69, the battery is 2.5 years old. Have you checked your alternator?

new alternator. Maybe I need to run new wires to battery.

I sounds like you're not charging properly. The alternator in my 73 Eldo was putting out 20 amps then it would jump to 60 then somewhere else. It was a bitch to figure out why I was having strange issues with the car. Maybe you have a bad ground or something like that.

Good luck.
