C5 Corvette Factory Export Front Plate Filler

Hi, Here's a couple pic's of the export C5 plate.

Thanks for posting the pics! Do you have any idea why the export plate is indented like this? I've never seen this before in any pictures of exported vettes.

The plate has that raised part to hold the long rectangular plate holder of European plates. I have to look for another pic of European plate fixed to factory export plate (I have some somewhere).

Having lived in Germany with a C5... George has hit the nail on the head. :thumb

European plates are long & skinny. They also don't mount like US plates do, so the front plate filler is really more like an adapter to get a Euro plate bracket onto a Vette.

So it goes like this on the car from bumper to plate...

  1. Bumper
  2. Plate filler (pictured above in this thread)
  3. European bracket (really, it is more like a thin housing that a plate mounts to)
  4. European plate
