Help! tire pressure limitations !!!

How can I "Override" the tire pressure limitations build into the Warning display on the dash panel, i.e. Low or High pressure warnings .... I keep my tire pressures between 45 and 50 psi !!! Much better road feel, better gas mileage and tires last considerably longer .... Tired of hitting the reset button on the display panel, over and over and over again !!! Any suggestions

Put the amount of air in them that you want and then reprogram the tire sensors!! The car will think that they have 30 Lb in them!!

A (J 41760) Tire Pressure Sensor Activating Tool
is not necessary, just a strong magnet will do!!
(I use a magnet out of a old speaker!)

I'm not sure about 45-50 Lb in the tires,But I have tried it at 40 PSI and the DIC said 30 PSI!!
Which the tires actually had 40!!

Myself I run 30 LB in the rears and 34 in the front with my own alignment settings!! I've been running Kumho Ecsta ASX (Non Run-flat)all season tires and have almost 50,000 miles on them get 33-35 MPG on trips,have even tire ware and can still hear the stereo with clarity!!(Other than the rears will be to the ware bars by winter!) I plan on replacing the tires before winter!!
I have a Z06 tire pump kit and Mushroom Plug kit in the middle compartment in the rear,but I've never needed it!! Thats more than I can say for the BadYear Rumble Craps,I had 3 flats on the rear in the first 12,000 miles!!

Thanks Dude !!! You're right on Junkie ..... Really appreciate the help ! Did not have the Sensor activating tool (have the full set of GM C5 Shop manuals) Dealers will not deviate tire pressures due to NTSB rules .... How did you figure out that a magnate would do the same thing ? .... Your smarter than I am ! Retired Airforce Flight Engr. with an Airframe & Powerplant license ! Anyway, I'm running "Generals" Exclaim UHP ... rated no#1 by Tirerack.com in the Ultra High Performance Summer catagory, Great tire ! But, then again, only drive the car from April to October .... so don't put many miles on !

The alignment on my 08 was set by Junk and I've got almost perfect wear on my original Goodyear's .I turned 14000 miles today and I run 31.67543 lbs of pressure front and 32.17543 lbs rear.

Absolutely ,I bought one of those tire gauges that that Billy Mayes guy was sellin on TV.I remember him sayin "you can bet your life on this gauge".

I had a Goodyear dealer trcently admit that the factory suggests a lower pressure so we buy tires sooner. You can actually run with 35 -38 psi.

You Know .... It really is just personal preference .... Try this ! Air your tires up to 45psi and drive normally for , Ok ... Speed limit ... lets say 5 miles (you will have to hit your panel reset button four times, once for each tire) and then return home ... return your tire pressure to 32psi, or what ever .... and let me know how it feels !!!

45 psi may feel better to certain drivers, but it will gaurantee uneven tread wear, running the center tread of the tires out a lot sooner than it should, while the outer tread will still be in good condition.

Ah don't beet your self up to much I was one of those lowly C3 owners once myself.

As stated it's a personnel preference .It does seam a tad high .I guess then proof will be how the tires actually wear and I'd be interested to find out.
