Valvoline Power Steering Fluid

gmjunkie is correct. The Lucas P.S. Conditioner works.I was sceptacle at first but it's Great. Not a Snake Oil.

I still have to get the air out of the system. I turn it with engine off and get bubbles. I have tried again turning it with the engine running, but air is still in the system.

I'm not really sure turning it with the engine running will get rid of the air as I think the bubbles just continue to circulate.

So, how do you get rid of the air? Or should I just stay out there for 10 hour days turning the wheel with the engine off?

The engine must be running to get the air out!!!!:thumb

As far as how long it will take;shrug;shrug;shrug
Depends on if you keep cranking it back and forth with the engine OFF pumping air back in it!!:L:L:L

I had looked into it on the net, and had read a few different ways. Some said like what you are saying with the engine running. And some said not to run the engine, etc.

Anyways, I did notice air bubbles in the reservoir when I turned it with the engine off.

Anyways, though the first day, I probably turned it 30 times with the engine running. And the second day I turned it probably another 30 with the engine running. And I did it some without the engine running as well.

I can't imagine having to turn the wheel 500 times back or forth or something. I've got over 50 turns already with the engine running and air is still there.

Ok, went out there again. With engine off, I got bubbles in the reservoir. So, I ran the engine for 30 minutes while I turned the steering wheel. Shut it off, and turned it and got bubbles in the reservoir.

And with the engine off, and I turn the wheel. I can hear the rack making squishing noises sometimes. I'm assuming that is because of the air, or does it normally do that?

It shouldn't take it more than 8-10 Lock to Locks running!!:thumb Yeah, you can probly hear the fluid moving back and forth through the hoses if it's not running!:thumb:thumb
Take it for a 50 mile ride with several turns,it should clear up by then if it's going to!:thumb:thumb:thumb

It was a little better when I drove it the second time as there wasn't much steering vibration, but I could feel and hear something.

I pulled out the scope, and I was hearing the squishing noise at the rack when I was turning it with the engine off.

Yeah, I guess I'll drive it for a little while and hope that helps. I do know the fluid level raises when I start turning the rack, so maybe the air in there will work its way out.
