    Help! 1971 Corvette (basic 350 engine) Valve Covers

    GerryLP, That's what the valve cover looks like, but the 71 uses a black rubber push-in oil cap instead of the traditional painted metal twist in cap like the 70. The hole for the push-in cap is round like the PVC hole and breather hole. So the right side cover has 1 hole and the left side cover...

    Question: Looking for rivets.

    Dr. Rebuild has a good assortment of rivets and may have what you're looking for. There's a fastener dealer named McMaster Carr (I think) that has them, too. Regards, Alan

    72 Side Markers

    It was more like a thick bead of silicon sealer than a glue. It formed a gasket that held the lens to the housing. I used clear RTV to put mine back together. Regards, Alan

    The rocker channels are welded to the base of the hinge pillar and the base of the lock pillar They are an integral part of the birdcage. They are not part of the fiberglass body. Regards, Alan
