What is up with Corvette Clubs ?

I spoke with our club's webmaster recently... he gets so much spam in our club account that he wants to transfer the membership email list and the club email address to someone else in the club. It is a time consuming process when the ISP doesn't have a good spam filter. If you have the time...

Fair price for rear fascia replacement?

You may want to search this forum for others who have had this problem. I remember seeing someone discovering it was much more expensive because the crash structure under the rear fascia needed to be repaired and it isn't an easy job. Make sure they pull the rear cover off before settling on a...

    can't get rear rotor off

I can rotate the rotor with the trans in neutral and there isn't any appreciable drag from the e-brake so I don't think that is an issue. I sprayed the studs and the hub with PB penetrating oil last night and tonight. I'm using a 4# sledge to "tap" the rotor between the studs. It will not...

    can't get rear rotor off

2002 coupe. Having trouble getting the LR rotor off. It won't budge. I tried tapping the face of the drum section with a hammer hoping to loosen it up but it just won't move. Does anyone who has had this problem before offer any advice?

The Love of the Corvette vs. The Pain In the Wallet at Fuel Up

What year explorer is that? The highest I ever got in my 2000 Mountaineer was 19.8mpg. I get better milage from the Vette than that around town.

    Won't start!

FYI, the shop confirmed it is the starter that went bad. I don't remember seeing any TSBs or hearing that this is common for the C5. While its in, I asked them to change the trans fluid and filter... total bill for parts and labor is $506.

    Won't start!

Everything is clean around the battery tray. The old battery was very clean and I just put a new battery in a little over a week ago.

    Won't start!

Well, after a few days the car won't start again. If I pull the neg cable off the battery and charge the battery, she'll start right up. If I charge the battery while still connected to the car, no dice. Would I be correct in taking the alternator to a shop to check? I remember having to...

    Won't start!

Amazing what you can do when you can take your time to do it right... I wasn't paying attention to how the negative battery cable was mating to the battery. Got a bit of the rubber between the cable and side post and that doesn't work too well. The car will sit in the garage a few days while...

    Won't start!

Cut right to the chase... turn the key and click - nothing else. Replaced the battery thinking it dropped a cell. Original battery was charged very close to 100% and tested at 13.2v. Removed from the charger and after a shower (me not the battery) voltage showed 11.7. New battery installed and...

iPod through aux on factory Delco stereo

You MUST upgrade your iPOD's software to the latest version if you have a 3rd generation iPOD. You may have to play with buttons on the stereo in order to get sound if you don't. Also it's about 50/50 that the iPOD turns on and off when you start and stop the car but to me those are minor...

    Ac/heat/temp, Display Out

Holy cow you got robbed!! I only paid $190 for my unit (dealer price). I checked with Ken Fitchner Chevy via email and they only wanted somewhere between $220-$250 (don't quote me on this.)

    Ac/heat/temp, Display Out

I replaced the unit myself about a month ago. It isn't a pain but it is a bit scary to manhandle some of the parts to remove and install them. All you need are Torx screwdrivers and a few nut drivers. I used the C5 factory stereo removal procedure on corvetteforum.com as a guide.
