Well I finally have to deal with the Transmission. Today I lost 3rd, so I drove home in 2nd. Has been getting steadily worse over the last month and I have decided I cannot pinch this penny any more.
What I would like to know is any first hand experience with the several options I have seen...
I got about the same results with the GM Service Manual. I wish I was getting codes, I can do something with those. The connector you mention is suspect but I want to avoid blindly replacing parts. If it turns out to be inexpensive I may just start there anyway. Thanks for the response.
I am looking for a step-by-step guide for checking the vacuum system on my 95 LT-1. I found a nice one for the LT-5 secondary vacuum system but it is not very relevant. I have come across some in a few manuals also, but I need one for the DIY/garage mechanic with limited budget and tools. I am...
If the headlamp motor is still turning after they open or close then the bushings are going out. Replacing them is not too hard. I did not opt for the brass bushing when I replaced them so the fix was very cheap...
Paperclip method for pulling codes.
The 94 will have the OBDI computer but may have a 16 pin ODBII connector. (The connector is under the dash by your right knee). If so, take a small paperclip and short pin 5 and 12, counting the upper left as pin 1. Then turn the key to on but do not crank...
I started having the same problem and finally stopped starting all together. If you are seeing the check engine light while it is cranking you may be getting some codes in history. Get the codes from the computer if possible. most common for this problem will be 16, 36 and 42. If no codes then...
Maybe this picture of the 5-spokes on a similar car will help. 9"x17" all the way around. A steal at $100 for all four.

Link Fixed!!
I think you are right here. I have the same issue and it seemed to have started when I replaced the battery. The ground cable to battery connector was corroded. Replaced it but I have not had a chance to check the other end yet. I bet it is the same.
I am considering attempting this myself. Kicking around the idea of using fiberglass and creating a totaly new design. Do you have any pictures of your results you can post?
Is it a good thing or a bad thing that there is a hole in this vaccum 3 way valve?
Mine has one and I can hear a constant hiss coming from it. When I cover the hole the hiss stops. If I remove the hose going into the manifold right by the valve the engine idle goes up. Normal?
Looks like it was the Opti-Spark distributor. Replaced it and the waterpump and so far so good. Unfortunately in my zest to clean the timing cover I must have blown the gasket out. Nice oil leak going now. Oh well, no time to let the knuckles heal.
