I don't believe any had trans oil coolers... all the way up through 1967.
I know for a fact that 53-55's didn't have them. My 69 automatic DID have a cooler in the radiator.

I'm a heel of my hand AND a rubber mallet guy. :D
I push/hit them on with the heel of my hand, then use 3-4 plies of towels over the hubcap before bopping them with the rubber mallet for the final "set".

Here's some old memories for you.
The white one is my 67 1275 Cooper S that I sold about 10 years ago.
The yellow one is my 61 Cooper 998 that I had back in the 70's.
If I had room, I'd buy another. LOVE the old Mini's.

Something is definitely wrong with your brakes. I have drums on my 63 Corvette, and if you jam them on, they'll throw you through the windshield. :D
I also have drums all around on my 56 Chevy hot rod. That's one big 2 ton boat, and the drums stop it just fine.

I'm 6'4", 240#.
I had a 54. Sold it, as it was VERY uncomfortable for a guy my size.
My neighbor and dear friend has had a bunch of Corvettes, among them 2 62's.
He still has one. I've driven them on a number of occasions.
VERY uncomfortable for a guy my size. I'm long in the torso...
I can't tell you how long it should be, but I can tell you that to adjust it, you...
1. Have a friend hold the gas pedal all the way to the floor. Make sure the carb is opened up fully with the gas pedal depressed all the way.
2. Under the car, pull the lever forward, till you hit the...
John Pirkle in Georgia is "the man" when it comes to rebuilding and restoring original alternators.
When you get it back from Pirkle, it'll have dated diodes, etc.
If that's you bag, send it to Pirkle. If not, any competent electrical shop can rebuild it, AND when they rebuild it, they can...
