1993 convertible...cargo area lamps staying on?

D'oh moments.... we all have 'em . Some more than others. Me ? I'll blame it on my age . I ain't been to London for years ,don't miss it. Did fancy a break there to tour some of the historic pub inventory there, but difficult with a disabled wife, even the free travel does'nt help ,there , but...

1993 convertible...cargo area lamps staying on?

How thick can yer be????????!!!!! Checked the dimmer ,and, surprisingly, they were turned on there. Turned 'em off, and....well...DANG! This is what comes from;- 1. , being a f"&kwit 2. , unfamiliarity from very infrequent use of the car, 3 . , finding that the battery quick-disconnect may...

Interior lights staying on ,and headlamp motor "clunk"?

Cut'n' paste from the bottom of a previous thread........ Had a flat battery fail at a recent show, car had won an award, and then would not start ,just slight solenoid clicking and then nothing. Embarrassing? A bit !! Thought something was up when , going to the tonneau release button ,all I...

Had a flat battery fail at a recent show, car had won an award, and then would not start ,just slight solenoid clicking and then nothing. Embarrassing? A bit !! Thought something was up when , going to the tonneau release button ,all I got was a half-hearted click ,and no release. When I got the...

    '93.....best top?

It looks for now my '93 'vert may stay with me a while . But now the top looks a bit tired ,so need to ask if anyone has changed the top on one o' these ,and who gets the vote for best quality/value, and closest appearance to the stock material .It's in white , if that makes any difference ,and...

escaping / evaporating sparks and electrons !

Having now found that my suspected current drain is apparently not related to the headlights , the drain seems to be on the circuit for the E.C.M., as when the fuse is pulled ,the drain drops to .1 on the ammeter , from .33 . Assuming I have it set to the correct scale - the "Chinglish" manual...

Those bloody headlights again ! Talk about picking the moment to give grief...........

Right ,then.... more testing has revealed that the current drain is on the circuit to the E.C.M. , it turns out the headlights are'nt the source of the drain in all probability. So ,to that end , I'll post under a different heading and see if I can cop a few tips on what may be adrift there .

    Help! 1993 Overheating and "rattle"

Regarding the rattle ,get under the rear end and give the spare wheel carrier a good hearty push/thump , that'll rattle like a good 'un and drive yer nuts ,'until you find it .

Those bloody headlights again ! Talk about picking the moment to give grief...........

Further to the above..... just thought I'd nip out whilst the weather was fine , and pull the headlamp control relay off , as I've read the unit can be opened , despite the warning sticker on it to the effect that it must not be opened ,only removed or replaced . A firm called Top-Down sells...

Those bloody headlights again ! Talk about picking the moment to give grief...........

Now there's some interest in my '93 'vert , ( have to sell ,wife can't cope with gymnastics and seating position ) , the battery went flat in a week ,and it's a new one with good Amp/hour rating . I have had issues with a current drain , thought to be the headlights ,of about a quarter Amp ...

    Sad times,indeed......

Tom... Thanx for your good wishes ,mate ! It seems before too long I'll be looking at wheelchairs...but whilst things have some "do-ability" ,I'll have to get a more "normal" car . Shame ,really ,but things can be much worse ,you know. Thankful as ever for all I/we have had ,and may still have...

    Sad times,indeed......

I have to part with my sweet '93 convertible, due to my wife's worsening spinal disability - she can't tolerate being in the car , given the seating position , and entry/egress is a big issue also . So , to that end , I've posted it on Classic Cars for Sale on Car And Classic |...

    Battery Keeps Dying

Headlamp limit switch ? Hi, VetteOz, seen your reference to limit switches in the headlamp motors . I'd guessed there must be something of that nature in there , but until now had seen no mention of 'em . Are these switches something that can be fixed or adjusted? Or would rebuilt motors be a...

    horn connector?

hcbph.... the horns fitted now are the stockers ,all replacemnt horns seem to have spade terminals on 'em . I s'pose I could cut the stock plugs off and re-solder them if required in the future , to accommodate the stock horns again if originality ever became an issue to me . That would just...
