    FS rebuilt 3.08 differential

My 66 got 19 to 20.5 mpg on the highway with 3.08 differential gears, and still had enough torque to just let the clutch out at idle in first gear without stalling. I had this diff rebuilt about 8 years ago for a spare, sealed it in a bag, and boxed it up. The rebuilder replaced clutches...

    FS: Rebuilt Muncie 4 speed

Rebuilt Muncie 4 speed removed from a 67 GTO with 2.5 to 1 first gear, RH speedo location. The rebuilder replaced synchros, seals, and any other parts that looked worn. I crated it up in 1995 as a spare after testing it in my car for a week while my other Muncie was being rebuilt. Pick up in...

    Question: corvette 66 block ?

The only restriction that I have seen is that the Corvette 327cid blocks came from Flint (Fddmmyy) and not Tonawanda Forge and Foundry (Tddmmyy) The date on the engine an the single digit cast date day indicate a Flint block. Other than that, the stamp pad would have to display the serial...

    ethanol gas

I've been using 10% ethanol in my 66 Sting Ray, lawn mower, snow blower, and a series of SUVs for 15 - 20 years with no problems. My lawn mower is 12 years old and the snow blower is 30. I never put stabil in any of them and the gas is always good at seasonal startup. Try using less stabil...

NCRS club (good or bad for the corvette enthusiast)

Just the use of the term "driver" (as opposed to something worthy) is the ncrs attitude that made me quit being a member. I'm a driver. My car is a streetmachine.

Help on carb/electrical - idle and misfire problems

NO I noticed that unlike the fuel that was made in the 60s, todays fuel boils up and smells up the whole garage when you park, but that also makes it light up better when the engine is cold and run a cold engine without a choke. I set my AFR by changing the AFB jets to the leanest mix my...

Help on carb/electrical - idle and misfire problems

Due to reformulated fuel, I locked the choke at full lean on my AFB at least 10 years ago. The car always starts and runs, easily even in below zero weather with just a couple of pumps on the accelerator pedal. I also believe that ignition is the fault with timing advance problems. Make sure...

    Survey 63 vs 66

the 63 has a lot of 1 year only parts on it that are expensive to replace and/or hard to find - only really important if the car is not complete or will be driven a lot and you want it to look and drive at its best
