Recently purchased '08 base coupe. Telescoping steering column inoperative. Power seats function properly. When trying to set memory driving position and exit position I get all the appropriate beeps but the seat, mirror, telescoping column and exit memory functions dont seem to work. Remove...
Being an electronic tech, I tend to shy away from creating direct short circuits on the inputs or outputs of those expensive computer modules when I'm not certain what effect it would have. If you can get away with it - great! - saves searching around for a resistor.

The service manual (page 8A-201-15) shows the 1-4 shift relay as 2nd from the right in a bank of 4 relays near the battery. My car only has 2 relays in that area. Obviously a different configuration than the manual. Sure would appreciate if someone could point me toward the...

>>I've even been known to drop the clutch at 5000 just to smoke the tires.<<
Thats pretty gutsy. Dont think I'd ever do that, but after reading everyone's opinions I guess I dont have to be so nervous about taking it up to the red-line.
Thanks for all the responses

No, I think you have it backwards. Unless your meter is an oddball, the 10 amp configuration is UNFUSED and the 'milliamps' is FUSED. If you used the 'milliamp' configuration and the current was more than about 250 milliamps, it probably blew the fuse right away without you even knowing it...
Many years ago when I drove a 429 CobraJet I got into a stop-light race and the darn thing ate a valve at high rpm which chewed up the valve seat, piston and cylinder wall. Plus I've been driving a diesel truck for a number of years. The red-line there is 3500 rpm.
For these reasons I'm quite...
I forgot to mention, when measuring current: as long as you are fairly certain the current will be less than 10 amps (much more than 10 amps will probably burn out your meter as that input is usually un-fused), it is good practice to measure on the 10 amp scale first. Then if the current is...
Either the meter is broken or you are reading it incorrectly. I suspect the meter. The reading of .14 milliamps is 140 microamps which, as you know, is nothing. I would suggest opening your meter and have a look at the fuse. I cant see your picture clearly enough, but most digital meters in...
Bought 1992 Corvette last summer. It is mint except the CD player normally doesnt work with any CD. It takes in the CD, tries to read it for 15 seconds or so then spits the CD back out. Only once, about a month after I bought it, it played just fine and sounded great. It played every CD I put...
It wont play store-bought CDs (except once). If its problematic because of a design fault then it may be best to just save time and effort and scrap it to install a high-end radio/CD. As long as it can be done without looking like a hack job.....
I've tried using the CD player in my '92 coupe a few dozen times. It usually just displays "ERR" and spits the CDs back out, which seems to indicate it cant read the CDs. One time it worked perfectly and sounded really good with several different CDs.
I did a search but all I could find was...
