Headlights - Motor Bushings
Sounds like the bushings inside the motor gears shot. If you see white dust near the headlight motor, this is a good indication. The bushings are made of plastic and tend to wear out after a few years. I did mine back in 2004 and they are still working great. The...
Last year i noticed that when the car was hot, the starter would make a clicking noise while turning over. The car would start but the clicking noise would occur (I am assuming its the starter making the noise). This year, it seems to be making the clicking sound when hot OR cold. Still, the...
Thanks boomdriver, going to take it in for another alignment this week (different place though - apparently one of the best in the city). Will let you know what happens.
At the end of last season, I had a rear-end leak. Took it in for repair (friend owns a transmission shop) and they did a good job but afterward the steering wheel was way off center. I took it in for an alignment and they fixed the steering wheel issue, did a 4-wheel alignment, etc. After the...
Thanks good to know. Giving it some additional thought, I remember now taking it in to a lube shop for an oil change in the spring. They offered to change the gear oil and I approved the work (never had gear oil changed, the car sits around a lot so I thought why not). I seem to recall that...
I also bought Kumho tires; the price was right and the quality seems reasonable. I've had them for three seasons now but only around 5,000 miles on them. Overall they have been pretty good, nice quiet ride, no major issues.
I've noticed though that they are becoming a bit slippery...
Happened to crawl under the car last night and noticed a lot of rear end fluid around the diff, some leaking onto the exhaust but nothing on the garage floor. I wiped it off (quite a mess) some seemed pretty fresh but still no real drips. Reading through some comments on rear end leaks, I'm...
Good point, it did require some patience for sure. Gotta admit though, one of the most enjoyable days I've had lately. Nothing better than working on the vette and finishing the job with success!
After several years of worrying about it, not knowing for sure what it involves, I finally replaced the rear hatch weatherstripping this weekend. I thought those in a similar position (ie worried about the job) might appreciate a little post-mortem:
1. Got the part from Ecklers ($99) - they...
Does anyone have a good set of instructions for removing rear speakers on a 1992? Amps are gone and I'm planning on getting four new ones. The front speakers/amps are easy, just not sure about the rear. Any documentation, or step-by-steps would be much appreciated.
You shouldn't need any modifications. For all information necessary, visit www.riv.ca (registrar of motor vehicles). I imported my 1992 three years ago from Houston, Texas. I had to add a daytime running lights module to pass federal inspection but that's it.
Does anyone know where to get large Corvette / C4 posters? Something 4-5 feet wide or bigger? Looking for wall art for garage and want something big. thanks.
LTPWS
I've also had numerous problems with LTPWS, after a year of reading and considering options, I ended up removing the fuse so the lights don't come on anymore.
Here's the story:
Battery died 2 yrs ago.
Replaced battery, Service LTPWS light comes on when car starts but goes out after...
