Vette starts & runs great until it warms up to about 140f then it "stumbles" or dies completely. This happens when driving or at idle in the driveway.
An electric failure is indicated as all gauges "die" with the engine. When motor dies completely it will restart immediately with a turn of the...
Replacement ECM
Note that this does NOT include a new prom. The one I bought included the prom and the dealer did all the extra work of security codes, etc.
I also learned late this past summer that GM counted on the prom lasting about 10 years before it would have to be replaced.
I now have...
Good Luck
I was able to obtain one from a local Chevy dealer BUT we (the parts manager & I) believe it was the only one "remanufactured" by them.
It was only listed in the on-line parts catalog for a few days and was removed just after I bought mine about August 2013.
Good luck on your search...
Changes
I wasn't "here" for the C5 intro (didn't have a 'Vette yet) but I do remember the dislike for the exposed headlights on the C6 when it was first shown. You would have thought they tried to make it look like a Camaro or maybe something "European"...... Just sayin.... :eyerole

C7 back window "copied"?
Had a chance to look at latest (March??) issue of "Corvette Magazine and on page 25 is an ad for Hennessey showing a white C6 with a similar rear window/quarter window treatment... And then some of my acient brain cells woke up and remembered seeing something similar...
C-7 in gray
Have to agree 100% on this. The first pics of the red one left me "upset" (especially the interior color combo) but I'm off to buy more PowerBall tickets so I can get a gray one. :thumb Especially like how the rear-end looks more unified with the gray/black combo and the cf roof...
Don't have the part number readily available but it was what was on my old ecm.
Mine was also put on backorder with no eta - and arrived 2 days later...
Maybe they don't rehab them until they get an order???
Bruce
With a "Corvette Club" discount it was $329. Add NYS Sales Tax and 1.2 hours of labor charge and I was back on the road for $411.
This is a real bargain after GM was asking about $1,000 for a new ECM last year.
The kicker on this is that when taking the Vette to the dealer (25 miles) it started...
Gm ecm
Called my "local" dealer on monday and the friendly parts manager ordered a "reconditioned" replacement ECM - even though the parts ordering system said there were none available, it was "in the system". Yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) he called to inform me that it had arrived...
Glad to read that a new ECM did the trick! :happyanim:
Been too busy to do any work on my similar problem but hope to get to it this week. Will try cleaning the connectors first and progree from there to the "grounds". Maybe a new ECM is in my future....... I've been thinking about doing the...
Sorry that you are Vette-less. :(
Yes, PLEASE let me know what the Doctor finds.
I'm only a couple of hours north of you and may need to visit your Doctor for my Vette's similar ailment.
Any resolution?
clugnut, Have you resolved your problem? I ask because my 92 just yesterday started acting in a similar way with the blinking SYS, Check ASR lit, cooling fan running (cold engine) and starter cranking but engine not starting. A "gentle" smack on the top of the ECM temporarily...
Slow drain
It took me a while to discover that when my '92 coupe was parked somewhere and the temperature in the car rose enough, the expanding air in the car would "lift" the back hatch just enough to turn on the courtesy lights and drain the battery. Of course whenever I looked in the...
Just wait
This auction still has 2 days left on it.
The high bid will really jump in the last 1/2 hour as all interested buyers will try to be the very LAST bid - the only one that really counts.
