I think I have had enough!!!
I would like to first thank all the people that tried to help and you are all a great bunch of folks. I believe that I have reached the point where owning this C5 is no longer fun. The electrical gremlins have gotten the best of me and now that I have retired, I...
just had time to pull codes
ok, i pulled the codes today and it is unbelieveable how fast these things come across. I think I got the important ones.

#2: BO-RFA : U1096-H / U1064-H / U1016-H / C2100-H
These are random codes that flashed up during the process...
I have searched and can't find my exact problem. I have a2000 convertible with 33k miles. A few months ago my battery went dead and was replaced. This began a string of problems that I can't help but believe aresomehow related. Was having no problem with any of these things before batt. problem...
getting close
I did some experimenting today and discovered that the capacitor is defiantly causing the engine not to start. I bypassed the capacitor and plugged the connector directly from the line coming out the dash into the distributor and the engine started. If the capacitor is plugged...
Have you done any work on the tach. in your C3? Mine has been doing some strange things and not sure where the problem is. I took the 75 out for a ride the other day,:D after sitting for several weeks, and noticed that the tachometer was not working. The needle was pointing between and 15 and...
I searched the knowledge base here and it said that the oil capacity is 6 qts. I have 6 qts. in it now and the dip stick shows full, top of the range on the stick. I did change the filter with an AC delco filter that is original equipment. No leaks. I am going to let it sit for overnight and...
Why can't anything be easy when working on these C5's? I changed the oil today on my 2000 convertible after the % reached 25. I forgot that this car uses 6 qts. of oil when i picked up the 5 qt. jug of Mobil 1. I changed the oil without incident but when I started the car the low oil warning...
Back on the road
It was the distriutor! Changed it out with the new one and started right up. I couldn't find my timing light so had to order one online and should be in tomorrow. Will set the final timing and put this one to rest. I guess I will never know which part of the old one went...
The 75 had been sitting for about 2 or 3 weeks without being run so my wife and I decided to take her out and get supper. Started it up to drive home after a good meal and drove about 1/2 mile then the engine just stopped running. No sputter or bucking or anything just dead. I was able to...
Nobody should ever have to appoligize for posting on this site! If you don't want to read the thread, don't open it. I, for one, am always checking the threads on the runflats vs. regular tires. I know that this decission is in my future as well as most corvette drivers that read this forum...
I am about to change both of my radiator hoses on my 2000 with 14k. The top hose looks very easy. I can not see the radiator end of the lower one. How is this accessed? If I take off both of the hoses, can I assume that most of the fluid will drain out? I need to know so when I figure the...
I have to say that the thing I like the least about my 2000 is the quality of the interior. Things just feel cheap. My daughter has a 2002 Camaro and the interiors are very similar in sight and feel.
Thanks, great suggestion. I am going to begin a process of cleaning every electrical connection I can find. I am also going to do the check of all the ground connections. Last night I installed the third brake light flasher and while I had my arms inside of the rear bumper, I cleaned the...
