85 - Inside door handle just moves, have to reach outside to open door

That's the same thing that happened to my 89. Autozone sold a small bag containing various replacement clips that fit mine perfectly. How are your window seals? perfect time to replace them too. Follow Hib's advice and look at the service manual if you've never pulled a door panel before.

Video: Z51 Stingray vs Challenger RT

I should clarify a bit. There were times on the southern Colorado interstate where I would exceed the speed limit a tad bit where one had a clear view of the road for miles, but,,, I also worked for a police dept as a patrol officer. That particular person and friend were on a road with stop...

    Rear wing install

Dear Jack, No one and I repeat no one has called you an idiot. You read the mans signature block mistaking it for a comment on your post. Please look at the posts, you will discover most of us have something written in our tag line blocks. Both people have offered good advice. Welcome to our...

Help! C6 Refuelling (Filling up at gas station)

I believe your problem is different than my problem. I don't have bellows with microswitches, nor do I fill past the auto shut off. My issue is that these splash shield used on some pumps in Michigan restrict the airflow coming back up the filler neck not allowing the fuel to freely flow down...

Help! C6 Refuelling (Filling up at gas station)

Hmmm, I only have to pull my nozzle out about 1/4 inch to allow for air venting when filling and I quit filling when it clicks off. Never bothered to "top" the tank. If any of you can tell me how to insert the nozzle all the way in without having to stand there and play with the filler, I'm all...

Help! C6 Refuelling (Filling up at gas station)

Seems lots of newer cars suffer from this problem. On my Range Rover, I just back the nozzle out a bit to allow for better venting. If I put it all the way in, the fuel flow down the pipe seems to get restricted a bit by the air venting back up the pipe shutting the nozzle off. I haven't had the...

    Car Covers

Mine is made by a company called Budge and is for indoor use. It is about 10 years old now and holding up well. Easy on and easy off. If I owned a classic, collectible or valuable car, I'd probably go with Hib's suggestion but my cover is for dust only. All my cars are high mileage daily...

    Car Covers

What is the main purpose of the cover? Are you storing the car in a garage and just want it covered or are you covering the car outside (i.i. at work)?

Question: dash cam audio only works in car.

Does it make a difference in what mode you're recording in, i.e., track, touring etc? Do all modes have audio? I thought I'd read somewhere that the audio was disabled in the valet mode because it was illegal to record the audio in 15 states while in the valet mode. Have you asked your dealer...

Could Active Aerodynamics Be Coming to the Corvette?

In the back of my mind, I always wondered why Chevy didn't use a professional driver which started me thinking. I bet they did it on purpose so those who are interested in Corvettes think, Gee, he's just an engineer (and a very talented driver) and if this is what the car can do with a normal...

    Question: Thermostat Question

Hib pretty well nailed it, the gauges aren't the most accurate...and when we lived in Colorado, temps around 230 were common in traffic. My 89 C4 was a bottom feeder, too. I got pretty good at cleaning the crap out of the intake area until I figured out how to make a screen out of extruded mesh...

    Tires...

Yep, and another vote for BFG G-Force tires. Went through three sets in about 130,000 miles. Rode well, handled well and were reasonably priced. Worked well in all road conditions from being a daily driver to playing in the Colorado Rockies I wish they made one that fit my Jag as I'm not that...

    89 alarm

Sounds like some of our C4's have gremlins. Otter's wife should not have been able to start the car and drive it home with the alarm blaring. Mine shouldn't have to have been started to silence the alarm after unlocking the door. Oiumetd shouldn't have been able to start his car with the alarm...

I'm confused... From what I can find on the net, it appears that AC Delco Dexos1 is made by ExxonMobil. Can anyone confirm this? I found some documents that sort of confirm this... http://www.lfpowers.com/tl_files/lfpowers/documents/newsletter-feb2011.pdf ExxonMobil Remains Lubricants...
