the only reason to use dexcool is if your car CAME with dexcool from the factory. NO other reason is valid.
if your car originally had green, dexcool will only last 2 years, not 5, due to the block pores alreadly being sealed with green, not dexcool.
plus your risking the famous dexcool...
I just tried the 15w-50. definately running at least 20+ degrees cooler oil temps. I couldn't get it above 250 on the hiway, and before the oil change I ran it up to 275*F on the highway no problem. of course the next event is the true test.
run your car down the hiway in 3rd gear and see...
if your car doesn't see the race track, then 5w-30 is fine.
I'm talking road course conditions where you run the motor to redline for 30minutes straight.
I brought a case of the 15w-50 and it's going in this weekend.
they were giving a free oil filter too with a case of mobile1
I agree with the fumes migrating back into the house, however I have to disagree with the mold.
In theory I agree with the mold statement.
but how about all those bathroom exhaust fans you run.
where does the makeup air come from?
and why aren't they causing mold right now.
the premise is...
a propane infrared heater is designed to burn clean. a propane BBQ grill is NOT designed to burn clean and is designed to burn in an outdoor enviorment.

for the most part, the vent will be closed. when it is open, yes you need makeup air, or leave the door open. I have a small amount of fresh air entering the system continuly anyway.
however consider the amount of times the front door is open when the kids goes in and out, it's not a problem...
I just rip out my sheetrock and insulated my attached garage.
threw a space heater in there ..attached it to my boiler.
7 floursent fixtures. white paint.. kitchen cabenits all around.
nice.
it needs A/C still and I may throw a unit through the wall. or tap into my central a/c
yes indeed the corsa has 1 dummy pipe. I noticed that in Nashville. very dissapointing, why couldn't they open it and get more flow??
however they sound great during the demo C4 and C5. very quiet until you nail it.
being that our 96's are so softly sprung (Z51 included), did anyone put in early year springs.... like the 88 Z51 springs or anything stiffer that what we have stock?
I have larger sway bars on order, but if that doesn't do the trick then I'm doing Koni's and possibly springs......
my 96 developed a loose front tie rod end. ordered a Moog from carparts.com. took them 3 weeks to get it here !!!!!!!
at least Moog has grease fittings on them, so this one will be good for years to come.
so much for carparts.com. 3 weeks was just toooooo much to wait. is there another...
