i,ve been using carb cleaner to clean my throttle body cars for years now i,ve been told that you can,t use carb cleaner to clean my 94 C4 throttle body, is that true and if so how or what do i ues to clean my throttle body?

Carb cleaner can leave a residue. Better to use specifically branded throttle body cleaner. Gumout and the other big brands all make a throttle body cleaner product. To really get at it good, you need to remove and take off the IAC solenoid assembly so as to be able to spray out the IAC air channel thoroughly.

I don't check this board so often so any questions email me or ask me ask in C4 tech on corvetteforum.com (same username).

Interesting. I didn't realize that the web has gotten so big that we are no longer just a click away...

Just make sure it is sensor safe and you will be fine - How could a residue remover leave residues:confused

Things that make one go, Hmmmmm :upthumbs

The protective coating that is put on the later TB's may be affected adversely. I use 3m TB cleaner since it is safe for all. (and only a used toothbrush to avoid surface damage.) Works for me, I have cleaned the '96 6 times in its 72K mile life.
