    ride control question

You're making it too difficult for yourself. Like I said, take one of the actuators off by unsnapping the little clip. Then, have someone turn on the key (but don't start) you will see the little brown gear inside turn one way and then the other. If the gear is intact then the actuator is ok...

    95 Front Spring

I wouldn't know what to look for in lowering either. On level ground, how many inches is there between the bottom of your dam and the ground, I have about 4".

    ride control question

Not so. Even a bad actuator will sound like it's doing its job. You will need to pull the little clip at the bottom of the actuator. Then, look inside and you should see a little brown plastic gear. Conversly, the top of the shock will have a metal gear that you should be able to turn easily...

    95 Front Spring

I have a 95 with a most irratating problem. Every time I enter or exit a driveway, I have to come to an almost complete stop so that my plastic air dam doesn't scrape. I know, the front end is low, but it happens on almost every curb I come to. Is there a way to raise the front end about an...

    95 brake smell

It had good pads on it, but I changed them out, just to be on the safe side. So there can't be over 5K on them.

    95 brake smell

I've had my 95 for about 6 months now, and really love driving it. However, I have one concern. Whenever I brake kind of suddenly, I really get a brake smell from the front, like they're overheating. I have 65K miles and the front rotors are worn quite a bit more than the rears. It just...

Bet you can't figure out how to remove this screw

I would sure help if you said what year yours is.

    95 HVAC problem

I continue to have problems with my A/C dash controls on my 95. The display light always blinks when I get in gear and go, for about 1 minute, then it turns solid. By pushing both the up and down fan buttons, it registers a 00. Then, when I push the fan button, it usually sets a 03 (open...

    Wheel bearing question.

I have a 95 what seems to have what you described. When the rear is jacked up, I can feel just the slightest slop. It's almost as if the wheel bearing is just 1/8 turn from being snug. On my 85 I could tighten up the bearing (on the fronts) but don't remember about the rears. Is there any...

    A/C control problems

Re: If it doesn't clear as indicated in above post.. Thanks for the trouble shooting guide. However, you're a lot more savy on this stuff than I am. Can you resend, using "english". In other words, I don't follow things like "does control head display 125 counts in pointer -19 with fault...

    A/C control problems

Re: If same as '90- Electronic Auto A/C I got a 03 trouble code. How can that be, I just replaced it on Sat and plugged it in.

    A/C control problems

I just replaced the outside temp sensor on my 95 because it always read 50 degrees. Didn't help (damn). Any ideas. The rest of the system works OK. Not sure it's important, but when I start it up, the selector light blinks for about 1 minute, then goes solid. Any help is appreciated.

    95 radio question

Re: light bulbs Sounds great to me. Maybe he knows of a shop on the west coast in the L.A. area that does the same thing. However, knowing what the # is on these bulbs would certainly help. (they're small little bastards)

    95 radio question

While this radio is in my 95, the question is pretty general and would apply to most any radio. The back lighting for my display is provided by 3 little bulbs that are about 1/8" tall and 1/8" in dia. 2 are burned out making the display dark on one side. They are soldered on to a pc board...

    95 A/C problem

I don't believe so. Everyone seems to point to the vacuum lines coming off the intake manifold just above cyl 4-6.

    95 A/C problem

In regards to my 95, how many vacuum check valves is there in the line between the manifold (just above 6-8 cyl) and the accumulator below the driver headlight??? I've replaced the one right next to the manifold but still have the problem of the air stopping to come out of the dash vents when...

    Please tell me its not!

The same thing happened to my 85. I did the replacement my self, and had to nearly tear the entire passenger dash apart. After I was done, I kind of wished I'd just driven into Chevy. Obviously, if you're in an area that has good weather, you can just put a little bi-pass hose for a little...

    87 O/D problem

My best friend has a problem with the O/D unit on his 87 4+3 trans. Normally, whenever he starts up and drives, the trans goes into O/D as soon as he goes into 2nd (which is normal). Now, whenever he pushes the button on top of the shifter, it won't go out of O/D. He has to hit the button...

    95 A/C trouble

The little carbon contacts are pretty small, about .050". Couldn't tell whether they were dirty or not. I used a q-tip and alchohol and after cleaning all of them, it was still basically white. The problem seem to have gone away, however, my outside temp sensor still gives crazy numbers...

    95 A/C trouble

I'm still having trouble with the A/C controls on my 95. I took the controller out, cleaned behind all the buttons, including the little carbon contactors. When I got in the car this morning and pushed the vent button, everything worked fine (the light did flash for a few minutes and then...
