I think my Heater Core is going out! I smell Coolant inside the car and the Windshield fogs up whenever I start the car.

Actually, we can all tell you it's not....It's not going to be easy.

The same thing happened to my 85. I did the replacement my self, and had to nearly tear the entire passenger dash apart. After I was done, I kind of wished I'd just driven into Chevy.

Obviously, if you're in an area that has good weather, you can just put a little bi-pass hose for a little while, until long range plans can be made. Good luck.

Yep, that sounds like the heater core because that's exactly what happened to me and my 1985. I did take mine into the dealer and had them do it. It was expensive. I do remember reading that they changed the location in the early 90's to make it accessible (sp?) from under the hood instead of under the dash. I think you may have an easier time with it than us older C4 models did. Good luck! :)

OUCH... i helped change the one in my brothers 85 ... and yes it sounds like a heater core ..

Damn, I hate being right. Anybody have any tips that have done this on a LT1?

No , wish i could help, but i'll bet you learn new words doing it . heater cores are always a challenge i have a 94 duelly and i have put 3 in it since it was new , whats happened to quality ?

Burn the car down and collect the insurance for a new heater core *cough* car. :D
