2001 Red Convertible 12000 Miles For Sale

I hope my previous post wasn't taken the wrong way. I posted to show my support to Mike's statement as many people do look for cars that have either "never seen rain" or (more realistically often than not as you mentioned, Alan) look like they never saw rain. I hope it wasn't misconstrued that...

2001 Red Convertible 12000 Miles For Sale

Yeah, we sorta hijacked your thread, Mike. However just think of as extra publicity for the car as we keep bumping the thread to the top. ;) Good luck with getting a C5 in the near future, Edmond. That'll be a awesome...especially if you can keep the '88 too. -J.

    Looking at an 89......

If you do decide to purchase her, detail that engine and wheel wells and repaint the valve covers and it'll look doubly sweet! Good luck in whatever you decide and keep doing your homework. -J.

2001 Red Convertible 12000 Miles For Sale

*lol* Do you wanna go check it out for me, Edmond? :) Seriously, an upgrade is still on my mind, it's just an unsecure job situation and a 2 year old that is holding me back. One of these days, though...and hopefully sooner than later! -J.

2001 Red Convertible 12000 Miles For Sale

Many guys like myself will only purchase sports cars that have never or rarely seen rain. "How can you tell", you ask? Well, a detailed look at the undercarriage will typically let you know. "And what if the car saw rain and the owner just detailed the undercarriage", you say? Well, as long as...

What job do we C4 owners have?

Jenavet, that is a truly horrible story. (Well, I mean the story itself was very entertaining but in a horrible way!!!)

Poll - Storing Car Care Products

No one has really offered any information as to the question of 'what temperature ranges products should ideally be stored at (high's and low's). I was able to find this bit of information on the Zaino website and figured I'd share it for all the Zaino users out there: A 70° room temperature...

    LPTWS damage during tire installation

I feel your pain. When I purchased my '89 roadster the tires were completely dry rotted with no tread remaining. I immediately paid nearly $1000 to have a set of GoodYear Z rated tires put on the car and when I got the car back, one of the LTPW sensor's was busted. Unfortunately, I couldn't...

apparently this one went through the auction a week ago...

Apparently low to mid-100's isn't going to move this particular car as Rogers Corvette has it listed as their featured car for $164,900 with a window sticker of nearly $186,000.

Poll - Storing Car Care Products

Where you do store your car care products...In the garage or in the house? Although I would love to leave everything in the garage, I store my stuff in the house because I'm afraid that temperatures might fall too low in the winter to be good for the various waxes, polishes, wheel and engine...

Which product is recommended for removing swirls by hand application?

Ken and Cornstarch Well, Ken...being only 31, I can't personally back you up on that old timers technique but I can serve as a witness for you. My neighbor about 4 houses down is a retired GM Engineer in his 60's (actually worked with Dave Hill) and he was telling me about the cornstarch...

    1989 Automatic Reputation

I have an '89 with an automatic transmission. Granted it only has about 37,700 miles but so far so good. No problems whatsoever to speak of. -J.

WTB: Z06 Catback (Will Trade Corsa Indy Catback)

There's a guy who lives 4 doors down from me who owns a 2003 Z06 with a stock exhaust (approximately 3,000 miles). I usually see him every couple weeks or so. Next time I see him, I'll ask him if he'd be up for the trade. Can you give me more information on the Corsa Indy Catback so I know...

    Top speed in a vert.

Fastest I've ever gone in my '89 with the top down is 110 mph...but I've had a '98 coupe up to 150-ish. I made sure I was on a smooth and very deserted stretch of highway. The car felt perfectly in control! It was fun, but I'll likely never drive that fast again. -J.

two 91's why is one faster then other one

Do they both have the same gear ratio's? Maybe one has the performance axle ratio which could account for slightly quicker acceleration. (I'm assuming that they are both auto's since you didn't specify.) -J.

    Wet Sanding

It sounds a tad steep to me. I just got 2 estimates last week for a complete wet sand and polish for my wife's 4 door 2002 Blazer and it came to $325 and $350...and that's more surface area than your corvette. So I'm not sure if you're getting a fair price or not.

C6 Articles in Detroit Auto News

I read that article this morning and I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or gag at some of the content. I read Anita and Paul's car reviews all of the time, and when it comes to sports cars it often seems as if they are rather clueless. I personally love how much of the article (including the...

05`s Vettes Camaro Nose will be Gone

Wow, Hib! With the exception of your first paragraph, it sounds like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. You should cut Iron Cross some slack on the "unreleased" comment. I doubt he was actually trying to give out inaccurate information on purpose...it was more a mistake...
