    1992 AC Compressor

Hi, I'm looking to see if anyone has a used AC compressor for a 92 LT1. Mine has a pulley that is very loose and wobbly. I'm assuming the previous owner may have seized it up and then tried unseizing. If anyone knows any other years of corvettes or other chevy's that may be compatible with the...

    Parting out 1992 Corvette

AC Compressor Just figured I'd see if you still have this. Mine has a very sloppy pulley and I need to replace. Doesn't matter if it works or not, just as long as the pulley spins freely with no play. Let me know. Thanks.

    1992 Serpentine Belt Diagram

I got the belt this morning from a dealer that was about 30 mins from my house. No one in my state had the belt, except for one dealer, who wanted 91 dollars for it! The one I bought it from charged 63 with tax and it is a genuine GM part, so it should be of good quality. This belt went on in...

    1992 Serpentine Belt Diagram

I understand what you are saying. I guess I'm just anxious to get the car on the road. I'm on vacation this week and I just got the car home on Friday. I haven't even been able to start the car since having it home because the battery is dead, and won't hold a charge (because the belt isn't...

    1992 Serpentine Belt Diagram

I checked with Napa, they want 53 for the belt! Plus they have to order it and it could take up to a week to come in. Pep boys wants 33 and they have to order it too. Autozone can't even order it for me, carquest would have to order it too, and so would Advance Auto. Tomorrow I'm going to call...

Did I get a decent deal on 92 vert?

I recently purchased a 92 white convertible with red leather interior. The body is straight, no accidents, clear title, etc. It has 102,000 miles on it. The paint isn't too bad, but does have some scratches here and there. It had a total of 4 owners, me being the fourth and a dealer in Florida...

    1992 Serpentine Belt Diagram

I thought it should be a two sided belt because the one I took off was, however I just thought that is was one of those gator belts. The one I have from Autozone is only one sided so I must have the wrong belt. I thought it seemed odd to have a flat side go over a pulley that had the ridges...

    1992 Serpentine Belt Diagram

Hi, I recently purchased a 92 White Convertible, after selling my 84 last year. The serpentine belt broke off the other day when I bought it. I bought a new belt and figured it would be a simple job, as it was on my 84. I am following the routing diagram under the hood along with the one in my...

89' brake lights will not light up

I'd check the brake light switch up under the dash near the brake pedal. Sometimes that can be the culprit and I believe the cruise control switch is on that same switch.

    Governor gear on automatic 84

Nope, it wasn't necessary to remove the exhaust, just a little cramped in there, but very possible to do. Pry the cover off with a screw driver then tap it on evenly with something heavy. Of course don't bang it too hard. I used some silicone on mine to be sure it wouldn't leak. Hope you are as...

    good alignment shops in RI

Ocean state vette owner here too. Not sure of the number off the top of my head, but North Smithfield Auto Center has a decent setup and a bunch of nice guys that work there. They are in the yellow pages for sure, and are probably not more than 6 or 7 miles from you.:beer

    Governor gear on automatic 84

Great news!! I got the gear in and the cover installed correctly this time. I took the car for a ride up the road tonight and it is shifting perfectly now. I couldn't believe it because I've had it in my mind since this problem occured back in last november that I was gonna need a complete...

    Governor gear on automatic 84

I got the gear and put it in today, but I do appreciate the offer roadster. The problem i have now is getting that stupid cover on. I thought it was on all the way and went for a test drive up my driveway and lost all my fluid in the process. Tomorrow I'm gonna try to put it on right after work...

    Governor gear on automatic 84

Today i pulled the governor gear out of my transmission. The cover that I had to pull off had silicone holding it on, so I'm guessing maybe a previous owner had to replace this part as well. Any way, it appears that the plastic gear is very worn or grooved in the center and the outer portions of...

    Governor gear on automatic 84

I am about to undergo the expense of having my automatic transmission completely rebuilt. However, in a last minute attempt to avoid such an expense (1400) , I 've been trying to fix the problem myself. I was told that the transmission in my 84 is controlled by the cable that works with the...

    Transmission problem

Wow, these things must happen at the same time on these cars. Just over a week ago my transmission went out on my 84. Happened when I was on the highway doing about 90. All of a sudden my rpms went up but my speed stopped increasing (not that i should've went more faster). Then when i pulled...

    What Happened To my Transmission????

Today I was heading home from work on the highway, and I decided to open my 84 up a little (very deserted area). I was going about 85 or 90 when all of a sudden my rpms started to jump but i wasn't gaining any more speed or even maintaining a speed. Immediately i slowed it down and went to the...
