Guys thanks for the help. I guess I should have checked my owners manual first, it calls for a 180 thermostat. I don't think that's what's in it because you can see it open at 197 as the temp will dip about 3 degrees at that point when it's warming up. I looked on Eckler's and they listed a...
I decided to do a little maintenance on my cooling system, new antifreeze, thermostat and some water wetter to keep my baby running cool. When I started shopping around for a thermostat the replacement is listed as a 180 degree rather than the 195 that came in it. I check a couple of...
Mine's not pristine it's a driver, but in New England I wouldn't want to drive it in the snow and salt. That would sure take it's toll in a hurry, so it not my daily driver.
I have RD Racings Cross Frame for my 94 coupe. I did a good job stiffing the car, I was actually surprised at what a different it made with the top on. It did enough to make the car drive well even with the top off. I presently have it off the car for two reasons, because of its design with...
Did the plugs in my 94 last year. Not too bad at all. Got all but one of the back plugs on the right side with my 3/8 plug sock on a univeral drive. I did have to move the cruse control on the left side for a little room. In all took less than a couple of hours.

Hi Rain
I recently developed a squeal from my front breaks while backing out of the garage. Turned out to be one of those little spring clips rubbing on the rotor because the pad was worn out. I replaced them with a set of AutoZone Carbon-Metalic pads. They even came with the spring clips...
AutoTap will work on ODBII cars. My son has it for his laptop works good saved us many trips to GM to have a service engine light checked out.

Don't know of anything that will do ODBI, I'm looking for that for my 94.

I'm from Mass also, had the Vette for 2 years with the front plate covered and no problems. Broke my heart when I had to get rid of my last green plate (only required one). My son's Carmaro hasn't had a front plate on it eather since he got it three years ago. Mass is easy since there are...
Probably will jack it up and put the tire to get some room to move around. Last car I did wasn't a vette and it came out throug the front wheel well real easy.
That techtip is right on. I have a similar problem with my 94. Last weekend I pulled out the mast to check it out. I cleaned and lubed it but it still won't go down all the way. My next project is to put the unit and check out the motor. I expect to find part of an old ribbon in it that's...
Had an interesting experience with carfax last week that left me quite dissatisfied. My daughter was buying a new car and was turning in her 96 Grand Am that we’ve had since 99. Because of some misleading/incorrect information on the carfax report indication a possible odometer rollback, the...
Hey - if it's a nice day and the roads are dry I'll take it for a ride. This has been a really lousy winter it's only been out only once since early December. My 94 is a driver not a show car, I just don't want to put it away dirty in the strorage unit.
BigRed - Thanks for the reassurance. It’s been running fine since I changed the TPS. No sense trying to fix something if it’s not broke. Guess I’ll just have to keep driving it to work etc., until I’m sure it’s fixed. Who knows, that could just take the rest of the summer!

Installed a new TPS on my 1994 LT1 to try and correct an idle problem when the engine is hot and doing a lot of idling in traffic. Had the same problem with a 93 Buick that my GM dealer fixed with a new TPS. Problem is I can't see how you adjust it. Holes arn't sloted like on the older...

I also bought a Polo Green 94 last August. It had 65K on it and a set of GS-Cs that looked almost new. How many miles on your Vette? Just wondering what kind of mileage I can expect to get from my GS-Cs.

Hi North 40
I have a Polo Green '94 with tan interior and bronze top. I like the look, don't know if blue would work as well. Just got one of those static cling liners for xmas, I find the sun a bit much when I'm using it daily driver.

Thanks for the advice. I’m hoping for a mild winter here in Massachusetts so I can take it out for a ride once in a while. Otherwise I also am renting at a storage facility and I might have a better chance of the ground being dry in there than out on the streets. I drive right by...
All this great discussion on what to do with your battery for storage, I just had to jump in and ask my question. My car is being stored in an unheated garage with no AC available. I really don’t want to lose the ECM, radio and alarm settings. Anyone have any ideas for keeping a battery...
Hey fellow CACC members, thanks for the warm welcome. Didn’t know it was a crime to be a lurker.
I’m getting some really great feed back on my shaking problem, being my first vette I suspected it was somewhat normal when you remove part of the body but it’s nice to know it is. You’re right...
