    What's a '67 coupe worth?

There are three nice '67's here that sold recently. This will give you an idea of what a dealer who only deals in '67 and older Corvettes thinks they are worth. http://www.savagecorvettes.com

A used car dealer put this.......

I bought my Corvette from a used car dealer. They put a decal on the back of the cars they sell, except for the Corvettes. They don't put anything on the Corvettes.

What job do we C4 owners have?

I spent a hitch in the USN followed by many years with IBM as an EE. After an uplanned early retirement from IBM I am now working for Seagate Technology as a Reliability Engineer. I tell people that this is my retirement job. :D

    Is it possible?

The advice to get the AC checked out is right on. I spent a few days in AZ with mine a couple years and it cooled down fine. My car is white but I had the tinted top on and it got really hot inside. It was 115 in Havasu and around 110 in Phoenix. Even the white steering wheel with a towel...

    Leaning C4

You know Ken operates on a different level than the rest of us. He is probably in a different time continuum also.:L

    What would cause?

The computer will store the code, so the SES light doesn't need to be on to able to read the error code. There are several things that could cause the light to go on and off, so you will need to get the code or codes and work from there.

    Got hit yesterday...

Right. All of the documentation shows it as a 40, but if you park an anniversary car next to regular white car, you will see a rather large difference. The standard car is a pretty bright white. The anniversary color is more of a creme.

    Got hit yesterday...

Edmond, One piece of Corvette trivia you will need to know, if you don't already. There is no GM paint code for your car! The paint code will show as 40 which is the basic white color for 1988. The paint for the 35th anniversay car is a special color which is actually quite a bit different...

    Got hit yesterday...

Edmond, Sorry to hear about your cars. State Farm has always taken good care of me and I have been more than satisfied with their claims adjustments. I hope you have the same experience. I was tracking that storm as my daughter was flying out of O'Hare. She made it out almost three hours...

Put on a set of Bosch ceramic pads...

I've thought about going to the ceramic pads, mostly for dust reduction. Let us know how you like them and if the wheels stay significantly cleaner. I'm not hard on brakes either. I typically get 80 to 90,000 miles on pads on my cars.

    Rain - what Rain?

When I first got mine, I didn't drive it in the rain or if it was supposed to rain. After a long road trip with lots of rain, I changed my attitude. It's meant to be driven. :Steer Because of the potential for rust on the undercarraige and my plan to keep the car for many years, I don't...

Anyone ever had a family member/friend ask to borrow your vette?

My wife can drive it whenever she wants to. After all it was her idea to get it.:) I let my daughter take it sometimes when she is home for a visit.

1988 Burnt Fuel Pump Wire In Tank

When I replaced my pump I noticed that one of the wires had been very hot at one time. The insulation was partially melted but the wire was still OK. I put it back together with the new pump and it has been running fine for about three years now. I don't know if this is a normal occurrence...

should i hear fuel pump operating with ign on?

The fuel pump will run for approximately 2 seconds when the ignition is first turned on and then it shuts off until the car starts. Yes, you can hear it run. It sounds like a buzzing noise coming from the back of the car. The car will actually operate over a pretty wide range of fuel...

    Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulators

My original one was from Ecklers or Mid America (I don't remember which.) and it was really cheap. The threaded nipple for the vacuum line stripped out and the adjusting screw was so long it contacted the plenum. I now have a Holley and it is much better made and was less than $50. Sorry...

    Route 66

I know exactly what you are talking about. Two years ago my wife and I took the Vette and did the entire route from downtown Chicago to the Santa Monica Pier. :Steer It was a great trip. Some friends thought it sounded like a lot of fun, so last fall we had five couples that did the segment...

    Question: Speeding Tickets

I've been stopped twice in the last year. Once with the Vette, but that wasn't for speeding. A quick turn to a freeway on ramp was hidden behind some trees and I had to hit the brakes hard to make the turn when I saw it. The officer must have been sitting on the bridge getting bored. He just...

    How to Remove IAC

I'm with Wayne88. I think some people have ground down a socket to get it to fit into the tight space, but removing the TB is easy and quick.

    Front Plate used?

MN requires both plates and does not allow any kind of covering over either one. On a cruise this summer with about 25 cars, a HP Officer pulled one of the cars over and gave him a warning for no front plate. It was very effective at getting the word around that we needed to have front...
